Skydance Animation Madrid (formerly known as Ilion Animation Studios) is a Spanish animation studio based in Madrid, Spain. It is a subsidiary of Skydance Media via Skydance Animation to create computer-animated films for theatrical release. After working with Skydance since 2017, they were acquired by the company in 2020, and rebranded as Skydance Animation Madrid.
Ilion Animation Studios was originally based in Madrid, Spain. The Perez Dolset brothers, Javier and Ignacio Perez Dolset, founded the company in the year of 2002 to make animated films. Ilion Animation Studios was a partner with U-Tad, which is a European University that is specialized in digital arts and technology. Ilion came up with all of its own content. On occasion, Ilion worked with some of its third parties. [1] Ilion Animation Studios was independently and privately owned. [3]
In March 2017, Ilion announced that they would partner with Skydance Animation to produce two animated feature films: Luck and Spellbound . [4] Skydance Animation formally acquired the studio in April 2020, renaming it as Skydance Animation Madrid. [5]

John Alan Lasseter is an American film director, producer, and animator. He has served as the Head of Animation at Skydance Animation since 2019. Previously, he acted as the chief creative officer of Pixar Animation Studios, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and Disneytoon Studios, as well as the Principal Creative Advisor for Walt Disney Imagineering.
William Damaschke is an American film executive and producer who currently serves as the president of Warner Bros. Pictures Animation. Previously, he had spent 20 years at DreamWorks Animation, most recently as Chief Creative Officer, where he was involved in the creative, artistic, and operational direction of the company. His tenure oversaw the release of some of the company's big franchise films, including Madagascar, Kung Fu Panda, How to Train Your Dragon and The Croods. He also oversaw all of DreamWorks's live theatrical productions, including the award-winning Shrek the Musical. Damaschke’s other projects as a producer include the Broadway musical The Prom, directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, which played at the Longacre Theatre from 15 November 2018 to 11 August 2019; the Broadway-bound musical Half Time, directed and choreographed by Jerry Mitchell, which was presented at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Spring of 2018; and the stage adaptation of Moulin Rouge, directed by Alex Timbers, on which Damaschke serves as executive producer. He was also formerly the president of Skydance Animation.

Produced by Skydance Animation, the film features the voices of Rachel Zegler, Nicole Kidman, Javier Bardem, John Lithgow, Jenifer Lewis, and Nathan Lane. Set in the world of magic known as Lumbria, the story follows Princess Ellian (Zegler), a young girl who must break the spell that has split her kingdom in two.

Blush is a 2021 computer-animated science fiction short film inspired by a true story from writer and director Joe Mateo, produced by Heather Schmidt Feng Yanu and executive produced by John Lasseter, David Ellison and Dana Goldberg. Developed from Skydance Animation, the short film follows an astronaut falling in love with an alien on a small planet. The film was dedicated to the memory of Mary Ann R. Mateo who passed from breast cancer. It was released on Apple TV+ on October 1, 2021.
