History

Prior to the discovery of gold on the Witwatersrand in 1886, the suburb lay on land on one of the original farms called Waterval. [2] :199 The suburb was established in 1897 by J.J.P. Ackermann. [2] :199

Linden is a suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa - situated towards the north western suburbs of the city on the border of the former independent town of Randburg. This established up-market suburb between 5 km (3.1 mi) to 8 km (5.0 mi) north-west of the Johannesburg CBD was designed so that most of the streets and avenues form similar sized blocks.
