10 Years Gone is a live album by blackgaze / post-metal band Deafheaven. It was recorded live-in-studio at The Atomic Garden Studio East in Oakland, California, and released on December 4, 2020, through Sargent House.
"Earlier this year we intended on celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Deafheaven demo released through Bandcamp on June 1, 2010 with a tour of North America with our friends Inter Arma, Greet Death and All Your Sisters. Unfortunately, we couldn't fulfill that tour because of fallout from the Covid-19 pandemic. To rebound from the financial and morale hit, we put together an album of the set we intended to perform.
Revisiting the songs in this studio sessions format with Jack Shirley at Atomic Garden reminded us of how important these years have been. I'm thankful we were able to give songs like Daedalus, the first we wrote, and other favorites like Vertigo and Kettle new power after so many years of playing them. They made me think of the people who played on them with us. For the first time we've included information on who played on what tracks and when they were originally released. We included thank you-s in the liner notes to these musicians who've spent time with this project, on tour or on record and all of the touring crew, label support and management support who have helped us this past decade ..."

10 Years Gone is the second live album released by Deafheaven (the band had previously released Live at The Blacktop, nearly a decade earlier, in 2011). [2] The album was created in celebration of the band's 10-year anniversary, after the COVID-19 pandemic forced them to cancel a planned 10th anniversary tour.
10 Years Gone includes live renditions of songs that originally appeared on the band's demo EP ("Daedalus"), Roads to Judah ("Language Games"), Sunbather ("Vertigo", "The Pecan Tree", "Dreamhouse"), New Bermuda ("Baby Blue"), Ordinary Corrupt Human Love ("Glint"), and a non-album single ("From the Kettle Onto the Coil"). A live version of "Language Games" was previously released on Live at The Blacktop [3] The version of "From the Kettle Onto the Coil" featured in 10 Years Gone was the song's first physical release; previously, it was only available as a digital download.
Christina Wenig, reviewing the album for Louder Sound , gave it four stars out of five and called it "...a sonic portfolio that shows the impressive evolution of one of our present moment's most distinct metal bands..." She said that "10 Years Gone doesn't offer the energy, spontaneity and little mishaps that make the magic of an actual live album, but how could it? Ultimately, this record is the chronicle of a band reaching out to their community, to not only look back together, but to also push through an incredibly hard time for all of us." [4]

Lacuna Coil is an Italian gothic metal band from Milan. Since their formation in 1994, the group has had two name changes, being previously known as Sleep of Right and Ethereal, and they have recorded nine studio albums, two extended plays, two live albums, two compilation albums, one video album, and sixteen singles and music videos.
The Matches are an American rock band from Oakland, California, active from 1997 to 2009. Formed as the Locals, the group changed their name after five years to avoid conflict with a Chicago band of the same name. As the Matches, they self-released their debut album E. Von Dahl Killed the Locals in 2003, then signed to Epitaph Records who re-released it the following year. Decomposer followed in 2006, seeing the band move from their pop punk roots in a more idiosyncratic direction with contributions from nine different record producers; it reached no. 18 on Billboard's Independent Albums chart. Planet Us was a short-lived supergroup that formed in 2002 with Sammy Hagar on lead vocals, Neal Schon on guitar, Michael Anthony on bass, and Deen Castronovo on drums. Russian Circles is an American instrumental band based in Chicago, Illinois. The band was originally formed by childhood friends Mike Sullivan and Dave Turncrantz after their previous musical projects dissolved. After parting ways with their original bass player Colin DeKuiper in 2007, the trio was rounded out by Brian Cook. The band has gained widespread recognition based on a series of critically acclaimed albums and extensive international touring. Their name is taken from a drill exercise used in ice hockey, a sport Sullivan and Turncrantz grew up playing in their original hometown of St. Louis.

Sunbather is the second studio album by the American metal band Deafheaven. After the release of their debut record Roads to Judah, the then two piece group consisting of George Clarke and Kerry McCoy began work on Sunbather under the label Deathwish and recorded in several days in January 2013. The recording process brought a third member into the fold with drummer Dan Tracy who would go on to become a permanent fixture of the band. The album was recorded in The Atomic Garden Recording Studio, owned by Jack Shirley who had been a long time producer of the band.

"From the Kettle Onto the Coil" is a single by the American post-black metal band Deafheaven. The song was released as a free download on August 25, 2014 through Williams Street Records as a part of the cable network Adult Swim's 2014 weekly singles series. Deafheaven began performing the song live ahead of the single's release, as early as July 2014.
Moonlover is the second studio album by American post-metal band Ghost Bath. Recorded by producer Joshua Schroeder in Michigan, it was released on April 10, 2015 through, Northern Silence Productions. The album is the first Ghost Bath release after the band was revealed to be from North Dakota.
Jack Shirley is a Grammy Award nominated American record producer, audio engineer and musician. He is known for his analog driven aesthetic, and work with eclectic artists, including Deafheaven, whose 2013 sophomore album Sunbather received widespread critical acclaim. Shirley also worked with various other music acts, including Jeff Rosenstock, Loma Prieta, Bosse-de-Nage, Punch, Whirr, Shinobu, La Bella, State Faults and Frameworks. Besides his production work, he plays guitar for the bands Comadre and Everybody Row.
Rheia is the third studio album by Belgian band Oathbreaker. The album was produced by Jack Shirley and released through independent record label Deathwish Inc. on September 30, 2016. Oathbreaker toured internationally in support of Rheia from September until December with Skeletonwitch and Iron Reagan. The title references Rhea, mother to the six principal Olympians in Greek mythology.

Burnt Sugar is the second studio album by the American hardcore punk band Gouge Away, released on September 28, 2018 through Deathwish Inc. Burnt Sugar was co-produced by Jeremy Bolm of Touché Amoré and Jack Shirley, and was recorded live to 2" analog recording tape at Shirley's Atomic Garden studio in April 2018. Gouge Away promoted the album with music videos for the tracks "Only Friend", "Ghost" and "Hey Mercy".
"Black Brick" is a single by the American metal band Deafheaven. The song was released for streaming and download on February 27, 2019 through Anti- records. "Black Brick" is an unreleased track from the band's Ordinary Corrupt Human Love sessions that was released as a stand-alone single. The track was a surprise release that didn't receive any marketing or promotion prior to release and coincided with the start of Deafheaven's March–April 2019 US tour with Baroness.
Infinite Granite is the fifth studio album by American band Deafheaven, released on August 20, 2021, through Sargent House. The album represents a dramatic departure from the black metal influences of the band's previous albums, and a shift toward a shoegaze style with mostly clean vocals from frontman George Clarke.
