For his motto he chose God and the just cause and since the time of his reign, succeeding Danish monarchs have also chosen mottos in the Danish language rather than the formerly customary Latin.

Princess Wilhelmine Marie of Denmark and Norway was a Princess of Denmark by birth, as daughter of King Frederick VI. In 1828, she married her agnatic second cousin, the future King Frederick VII of Denmark, but the marriage ended in divorce in 1837. The following year, she married another cousin, Karl, Duke of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glücksburg, who was eldest brother of the future Christian IX of Denmark. Both her marriages were childless.

Em. Bærentzen & Co., also known as Em. Bærentzen's lithographiske Institut or Em. Bærentzen & Comp., was a leading lithography workshop and publisher based in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was founded in 1837 and merged into Det Hoffensbergske Etablissement in 1987 in 1874.
