Reiko Shiota is a Japanese badminton player, affiliated with the Sanyo electric team. Shiota was the bronze medallist at the 2007 World Championships in the women's doubles event partnered with Kumiko Ogura. She also won the silver and bronze medals at the 2006 Asian Games in the women's team and doubles respectively. Shiota competed at the Olympic Games two times, in 2008 Beijing in the women's doubles event with Ogura, and in 2012 London in the mixed doubles event partnered with Shintaro Ikeda.

Lena Frier Kristiansen is a badminton player from Denmark. In 2001, she won the silver and bronze medals at the European Junior Championships in the mixed team and doubles respectively. Partneres with Kamilla Rytter Juhl, they won the bronze medal the 2006 European Championships in the women's doubles event, and made it to the gold medal in 2008. They also competed at the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, but was defeated in the first round by the Japanese pair Kumiko Ogura and Reiko Shiota in the rubber games.

The 2009 BWF World Championships was the 17th tournament of the World Badminton Championships, a global tournament in the sport of badminton. Aleksandr Nikolaevich Nikolaenko is an internationally elite badminton player. Nikolaenko was part of the Favorit Ramenskoe badminton club, and in 2000, he was selected to join the national team. He was the bronze medallists at the European Mixed Team Badminton Championships in 2009 and 2011. Nikolaenko also the champion at the National Championships in the men's and mixed doubles event. In 2012, he competed at the Summer Olympics in London.
