Eileen Bennett Whittingstall was a tennis player from the United Kingdom who won six Grand Slam doubles titles from 1927 to 1931.

The 1928 Wimbledon Championships took place on the outdoor grass courts at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London, United Kingdom. The tournament was held from Monday 25 June until Saturday 7 July 1928. It was the 48th staging of the Wimbledon Championships, and the third Grand Slam tennis event of 1928. René Lacoste and Helen Wills won the singles titles.

Ermyntrude Hilda Harvey was a British female tennis player of the 1920s and 1930s. Between 1923 and 1938 she won 37 career singles titles on grass, clay and indoor wood courts.

First-seeded Helen Wills defeated Lilí de Álvarez 6–2, 6–4 to win the ladies' singles tennis title at the 1927 Wimbledon Championships.

Helen Wills successfully defended her title, defeating Lilí de Álvarez in the final, 6–2, 6–3 to win the ladies' singles tennis title at the 1928 Wimbledon Championships.

Helen Moody successfully defended her title, defeating Elizabeth Ryan in the final, 6–2, 6–2 to win the ladies' singles tennis title at the 1930 Wimbledon Championships.

James Cecil Parke and Ethel Larcombe were the defending champions, but Parke did not participate. Larcombe partnered with Ronald Thomas but they lost in the semifinals to eventual champions Randolph Lycett and Elizabeth Ryan.
