The 1931 Wimbledon Championships took place on the outdoor grass courts at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London, United Kingdom. The tournament was held from Monday 22 June until Saturday 4 July 1931. It was the 51st staging of the Wimbledon Championships, and the third Grand Slam tennis event of 1931. Sidney Wood and Cilly Aussem won the singles titles.

Louise Brough defeated Doris Hart in the final, 6–3, 8–6 to win the ladies' singles tennis title at the 1948 Wimbledon Championships. Margaret duPont was the defending champion, but lost in the semifinals to Doris Hart.

Louise Brough successfully defended her title, defeating Margaret duPont in the final, 6–1, 3–6, 6–1 to win the ladies' singles tennis title at the 1950 Wimbledon Championships.

Maureen Connolly successfully defended her title, defeating Doris Hart in the final, 8–6, 7–5 to win the ladies' singles tennis title at the 1953 Wimbledon Championships.

Dorothy Shepherd-Barron was a tennis player from Great Britain who competed in the 1924 Summer Olympics.

Josane Sigart was a Belgian tennis player who was active in the 1930s. In 1928, she won the singles title at the Belgian Championships and would repeat this success in 1929, 1931, 1932, 1936 and 1946. In 1932, she won the Wimbledon Championships in woman's doubles with the Doris Metaxa and reached the mixed-doubles final with Harry Hopman.

Jack Crawford and Elizabeth Ryan were the defending champions, but did not participate.

Phyllis King and Dorothy Shepherd-Barron were the defending champions, but lost in the quarterfinals to Lolette Payot and Muriel Thomas.

George Lott and Anna Harper were the defending champions, but Lott did not compete. Harper partnered with Ian Collins, but lost in the fourth round to Jacques Brugnon and Simonne Mathieu.

Doris Metaxa and Josane Sigart were the defending champions, but Metaxa did not compete. Sigart partnered with Peggy Scriven, but lost in the third round to Kitty Godfree and Peggy Michell.

Don Budge and Gene Mako successfully defended their title, defeating Henner Henkel and Georg von Metaxa in the final, 6–4, 3–6, 6–3, 8–6 to win the gentlemen's doubles tennis title at the 1938 Wimbledon Championship.

Don Budge and Gene Mako were the defending champions, but were ineligible to compete after turning professional.

Louise Brough and Margaret duPont defeated the defending champions Doris Hart and Pat Todd in the final, 6–3, 3–6, 6–3 to win the ladies' doubles tennis title at the 1948 Wimbledon Championships.

John Bromwich and Louise Brough successfully defended their title, defeating Frank Sedgman and Doris Hart in the final, 6–2, 3–6, 6–3 to win the mixed doubles tennis title at the 1948 Wimbledon Championships.

Shirley Fry and Doris Hart successfully defended their title, defeating Maureen Connolly and Julia Sampson in the final, 6–0, 6–0 to win the ladies' doubles tennis title at the 1953 Wimbledon Championships.

Vic Seixas and Doris Hart successfully defended their title, defeating Enrique Morea and Louise Brough in the final, 8–6, 2–6, 6–3 to win the mixed doubles tennis title at the 1955 Wimbledon Championships.

Vic Seixas and Doris Hart were the defending champions, but Hart did not compete. Seixas competed with Shirley Fry, and they defeated Gardnar Mulloy and Althea Gibson in the final, 8–6, 2–6, 6–3 to win the mixed doubles tennis title at the 1956 Wimbledon Championships.
