The 10th Grand Prix de l'Albigeois was a Formula One motor race held on 29 August 1948 at Les Planques circuit in Albi in the Tarn department of France. The race was held over two heats of 17 laps, with the winner being decided by aggregate time.

Contents

The winner was Luigi Villoresi in a Maserati 4CLT/48; he also set fastest qualifying time, set fastest lap and won both heats by a comfortable margin. His aggregate time was over 1 minute and 40 seconds ahead of second placed Philippe Étancelin in a Talbot-Lago T26C. Louis Rosier was third in another T26C. [1] [2]

Historically, the Monaco Grand Prix held practice on Thursday rather than Friday, and the whole schedule for the Las Vegas Grand Prix is brought forward by one day.

The 1928 French Grand Prix was a Grand Prix motor race held at Saint-Gaudens on 1 July 1928. The race was held over 10 laps of a 26.3 km course for a total distance of 263 km. This is the same circuit used for the Grand Prix du Comminges. The race was won by William Grover-Williams driving a Bugatti. Due to a lack of entries in 1926 and 1927 it was decided that the race should be held for sports cars.

The race was run over two heats each of 35 laps, with the winner being decided by aggregate time. The winner was Giuseppe Farina in a Ferrari 500, who also set overall fastest lap. Farina's teammate André Simon was second and Rudi Fischer third in a privateer 500. Ferrari driver Alberto Ascari started from pole in both heats and set fastest lap in heat 1 but succumbed to mechanical failure in heat 2. Ascari won heat 1 and Farina won heat 2.

The race was held over two heats of 10 laps; one for Formula One and one for Formula Two, and a final of 18 laps in which both classes took part. The top four finishers in each heat qualified for the final, plus another four based on finishing position.

The race was run over two heats each of 50 laps, with the winner being decided by aggregate time. The winner was Élie Bayol in an O.S.C.A. Tipo 20, finishing second and first in the two heats. Louis Rosier was second in a Ferrari 500 and Lance Macklin third in a HWM-Alta. The 9th Grand Prix de l'Albigeois was a Formula One motor race held on 13 July 1947 at Les Planques circuit in Albi in the Tarn department of France. The winner of the 40 lap race was Louis Rosier in a Talbot-Lago T150SS. Second was Raymond Sommer in a Simca Gordini Type 11 and Charles Pozzi was third in a Delahaye 135. Maserati drivers Henri Louveau and Luigi Villoresi set pole and fastest lap respectively, but both retired.
