The 1962 Croke Cup was the 11th staging of the Croke Cup since its establishment by the Gaelic Athletic Association in 1944. The competition ran from 1 April to 6 May 1962.
St Kieran's College were the defending champions, however, they were beaten in the Leinster Championship. [1] [2]
The final, a replay, was played on 6 May 1962 at Croke Park in Dublin, between St Peter's College and Rice College, in what was their first ever meeting in the final. [3] St Peter's College won the match by 4–11 to 2–04 to claim their first ever Croke Cup title. [4] [5]

The All-Ireland Post-Primary Schools Croke Cup, is an annual inter-schools hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association. It is the highest inter-schools hurling competition in Ireland, and has been contested every year, except on two occasions, since 1944.
Donnacha Cody is an Irish former hurler. At club level he played with James Stephens, and also lined out at inter-county level with various Kilkenny teams.

Brian Martin Dowling is an Irish hurling manager and former player. At club level he played with O'Loughlin Gaels, and also lined out at inter-county level with various Kilkenny teams. Dowling has also served as manager of the Kilkenny senior camogie team.
