The final was played on 27 April 1991 at Semple Stadium in Thurles, between St Flannan's College and St Kieran's College, in what was their seventh meeting in the final overall and a third consecutive meeting. [3] St Flannan's College won the match by 1–15 to 1–09 to claim a record-breaking 11th Croke Cup title overall and a first title in four years. [4] [5]

The All-Ireland Post-Primary Schools Croke Cup, is an annual inter-schools hurling competition organised by the Gaelic Athletic Association. It is the highest inter-schools hurling competition in Ireland, and has been contested every year, except on two occasions, since 1944.
