Catholic Church in Nigeria

The Catholic Church in Nigeria is part of the worldwide Catholic Church, under the spiritual leadership of the Pope, the curia in Rome, and the Catholic Bishops' Conference of Nigeria (CBCN). The present president of the CBCN as of 2020 is Augustine Obiora Akubeze, Archbishop of Benin city, who was preceded by the Archbishop of Jos Catholic Diocese, Ignatius Kaigama.

Anambra State State of Nigeria

Anambra State is a Nigerian state, located in the southeastern region of the country.The State was created on August 27, 1991. Anambra state is bounded by Delta and Edo States to the west, Imo and Rivers States to the south, Enugu State to the east and Kogi State to the north. According to the 2006 census report there are over 4.1 million residents in the state. The state name was formed in 1976 from the former East Central State, the state is named after Omambala River, a river that runs through the state. Anambra is the Anglicized name of the Omambala. The state capital is Awka, a rapidly growing city that increased in population from approximately 300,000 to 2.5 million between 2006 and 2018. The city of Onitsha, a historic port city from the pre-colonial era, remains an important centre of commerce within the state.

The National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is a bicameral legislature established under section 4 of the Nigerian Constitution. It consists of a Senate with 109 members and a 360-member House of Representatives. The body, modeled after the federal Congress of the United States, is supposed to guarantee equal representation with 3 Senators to each 36 states irrespective of size in the Senate plus 1 senator representing the FCT and single-member district, plurality voting in the House of Representatives. The National Assembly, like many other organs of the Nigerian federal government, is based in Abuja in the Federal Capital Territory.

Ibrahim Idris is a Nigeria businessman who was elected Governor of Kogi State in Nigeria in April 2003, and reelected in April 2007. He is a member of the ruling People's Democratic Party (PDP). Idris was succeeded by his brother-in-law Captain Idris Wada, who won an election in December 2011 and took office in January 2012.

Action Congress of Nigeria Political party

The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), formerly known as Action Congress (AC), was a Nigerian political party formed via the merger of a faction of Alliance for Democracy, the Justice Party, the Advance Congress of Democrats, and several other minor political parties in September 2006. The party controlled Lagos. It was regarded as a natural successor to the progressive politics more closely associated with the Action Group and Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) led by Chief Obafemi Awolowo in the First and Second Republics respectively. However, criticism of the party's more pragmatic and less ideological political outlook associated with AG and UPN, has made many argue it was less of a worthy political heir. The Party had strong presence in the South West, Mid-West and North Central Regions. Cathedral Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity, Onitsha Church in Onitsha, Nigeria

The Cathedral Basilica of the Most Holy Trinity is a Roman Catholic cathedral and minor basilica dedicated to the Trinity and located in Onitsha, Nigeria. The basilica is seat of the Archdiocese of Onitsha. It contains the relics of Blessed Cyprian Iwene Tansi, as well as the tombs of Bishop Joseph Shanahan and of the Archbishops Charles Heerey, Stephen Ezeanya and Albert Obiefuna. It is the only basilica in Nigeria.

Chief Patrick Nwokoye Okeke-Ojiudu KSS (1914-1995), also referred to as P.N. or P.N. Okeke, was a Nigerian politician, businessman, teacher, philanthropist and the patriarch of the Okeke-Ojiudu family. He was Minister of Agriculture from 1959-1966, a period known as the Nigerian First Republic.

Michael Tansi Memorial Secondary School is a mission school, owned specifically by the Onitsha Archdiocese of the Roman Catholic Mission, and is situated in Aguleri, Nigeria. The school derives its name from the deceased Blessed Cyprian Iwene Tansi, who hails from Aguleri and doubles as the school's patron Saint. The current priest in charge of the school is Rev. Fr. Michael Adichie.

Elizabeth Allo Isichei is a Nigerian author, historian and academic. Her parents are Albert and Lorna Allo. On 23 July 1964 she married Uche Peter Isichei and they have five children. In 1959 she earned her BA from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, B.A. In 1961 she completed her M.A. at Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand, and in 1967 she completed her PhD at Oxford University. She was a Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Otago. She has been a professor in the Department of History, University of Jos in Jos, Nigeria since 1976. She is the general editor for Jos Oral History and Literature Texts.
