The 1981 Canadian Ladies Curling Association Championship , (nicknamed "The Lassie"), the Canadian women's curling championship was from February 21 to 28, 1981 at Memorial Stadium in St. John's, Newfoundland. It was the final year before Scott Paper began sponsoring the event.

Contents

Team Alberta, who was skipped by Susan Seitz won the event as they defeated the home province, Newfoundland in the final 7–3. This was the fourth overall championship for Alberta and the only national championship for Seitz.

The Seitz rank would go onto represent Canada in the 1981 Royal Bank of Scotland World Women's Curling Championship in Perth, Scotland where they finished runner-up losing to Sweden in the final.

The 2001 Nokia Brier, Canada's national men's curling championship, was held March 3–11 at the Ottawa Civic Centre in Ottawa, Ontario. It was the very first Brier to be sponsored by Nokia. The theme of the event was the 2001: A Space Odyssey. In the finals, Team Alberta, consisting of skip Randy Ferbey, fourth David Nedohin, second Scott Pfeifer and lead Marcel Rocque would capture their first of four Brier wins as a team. They edged out Team Manitoba skipped by Kerry Burtnyk in the final, 8–4. While the Brier was not unsuccessful, it did end up losing money. The total attendance was 154,136.

The 1998 Scott Tournament of Hearts, the Canadian women's national curling championship, was held from February 21 to March 1 at the Agridome in Regina, Saskatchewan. This was the last major tournament in which Sandra Schmirler participated in prior to her death in 2000. The total attendance for the week set a record 154,688 which broke the previous mark set in 1993 by exactly 66,666. As of 2023, this remains the attendance record for the event.

The 1985 Scott Tournament of Hearts, the Canadian women's curling championship, was held from February 23 to March 2, 1985 at the Winnipeg Arena in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The total attendance for the tournament was 18,203 people. This would be the first year in which the champion would automatically qualify to next year's tournament as Team Canada.

The 2012 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, the Canadian women's national curling championship, was held from Saturday, February 18 to Sunday, February 26 at the ENMAX Centrium in Red Deer, Alberta. This Tournament of Hearts marked the second time that Red Deer has hosted the Scotties; the first time that the Scotties was hosted in Red Deer was in 2004.

The 1986 Scott Tournament of Hearts, the Canadian women's national curling championship, was held from February 22 to March 1, 1986 at the Thompson Arena in London, Ontario. The total attendance for the week was 21,023. It was the first year the defending champions would get a berth into the competition and return as Team Canada, who was skipped by Linda Moore.

The 2012 World Women's Curling Championship was held at the Enmax Centre in Lethbridge, Alberta from March 17 to 25. It marked the 12th time that Canada has hosted the World Women's Curling Championship. The 2012 World Women's Championship was one of the curling events that is a qualifier for the curling tournament at the 2014 Winter Olympics.

The winners, the Albertan teams skipped by Brendan Bottcher and Jocelyn Peterman, represented Canada at the 2012 World Junior Curling Championships in Östersund, Sweden.

The 2012 The Dominion Curling Club Championship was held from November 19 to 24 at the Scarboro Golf and Country Club in Scarborough, Ontario. In the men's final, Dan Sherrard of Alberta defeated Steve Irwin of Manitoba with a score of 7–6, stealing the winning point in the eight end. The 2021 Scotties Tournament of Hearts, Canada's national women's curling championship, was held from February 19 to 28 at the Markin MacPhail Centre at Canada Olympic Park in Calgary, Alberta. The winning Kerri Einarson team represented Canada at the 2021 World Women's Curling Championship. The world championship was supposed to be held at the Curlinghalle Schaffhausen in Schaffhausen, Switzerland; however, the event was cancelled and rescheduled to the "Calgary bubble" of the Markin MacPhail Centre.

The 2022 Canadian U18 Curling Championships were held from May 1 to 7 at the Oakville Curling Club in Oakville, Ontario. The event was originally scheduled to be held February 14 to 20 in Timmins, Ontario, however, was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Ontario.

The 2024 New Holland Canadian Under-21 Curling Championships were held from March 24 to 31 at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre and the Oilsands Curling Club in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The winners earned the right to represent Canada at the 2025 World Junior Curling Championships.
