The Nepali Congress is the largest social democratic political party in Nepal. It has been the ruling party of Nepal since July 2021.
The Communist Party of Nepal , abbreviated CPN (UML), is the major communist party in Nepal since its formation in January 1991, merging the Communist Party of Nepal (Marxist) and the Communist Party of Nepal (Marxist–Leninist). It is the main opposition party in the Federal Parliament of Nepal. It remains the largest party in all three tiers of government, namely: local, state and central government.
Sher Bahadur Deuba is a Nepali politician serving as the Prime Minister of Nepal since 13 July 2021. He has previously served four terms as the prime minister and is the Member of Parliament for the parliamentary constituency of Dadeldhura–1. He has been the president of the Nepali Congress since 2016.
Maharaja Jung Bahadur Kunwar Ranaji, was a Khas Rajput (Chhetri) ruler of Nepal and founder of the Rana Regime in Nepal. Jung Bahadur took control of the government after killing an alleged usurper, Gagan Singh, who was accused of plotting with the junior queen in 1846 to become prime minister by putting the queen's son on the throne. His original name was Bir Narsingh Kunwar but he was popularly known as Jang Bahadur, a name given to him by his maternal uncle Mathabar Singh Thapa. Mathabar Singh Thapa used to call Jang Bahadur Jangay for his boldness.
Rana dynasty is a Chhetri dynasty that ruled the Kingdom of Nepal from 1846 until 1951, reducing the Shah monarch to a figurehead and making Prime Minister and other government positions held by the Ranas hereditary. They claimed Kshatriya status themselves. Rana dynasty is historically known for the iron-fisted rule. This changed after the Revolution of 1951 with the promulgation of a new constitution, when power shifted back to the monarchy of King Tribhuvan.
The Terai Madhesh Loktantrik Party was a political party in Nepal, formed by former Minister and Nepali Congress national treasurer Mahantha Thakur. This party was once the biggest Madhesh based party with a strong base in Terai region of Nepal. The foundation of the party was announced on December 27, 2007. This party was made by Thakur with a popular slogan "Mare to Multi, jiye to Madhesh" meaning if I will live, I will fight for Madhesh and if I will get salvation. This was very popular and is popular till date. The party had four members in the interim parliament including Thakur.
The Nepalese Ministry of Foreign Affairs abbreviated as MoFA is responsible for conducting external affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal. Ministry of Foreign Affairs represents other line ministries and the Government of Nepal while dealing with other states.
Ministry of Finance is the central authority of Government of Nepal charged with the responsibilities for maintaining both micro and macro economic stability in the country. The position of finance minister in Nepal is currently held by Janardan Sharma, appointed on 13 July 2021.
Panchakanya Tej or Panchakanya Tez or TEJ was a franchise team in the Nepal Premier League and the 2016 Everest Premier League. The team was captained by Nepalese player Sharad Vesawkar. The head coach of the team was former Nepali cricket player Kalam Ali. The team was managed by the Team Manager Mr. Gopal Wagley.
Bidya Devi Bhandari is a Nepalese politician, serving as the second president of Nepal, in office since 28 October 2015. She is the first woman to hold the office in the country. She served as the vice-chairperson of the Communist Party of Nepal and was the chair of the All Nepal Women's Association before being elected president.
The 2017 Everest Premier League, also abbreviated as 2017 EPL, and branded as TVS EPL 2017 was the second edition of the Everest Premier League, a professional men's domestic Twenty20 cricket competition in Nepal. The tournament was scheduled to be held from 18 December 2017 to 30 December 2017. The tournament featured six teams and their names were based on the cities.
Dhir Shamsher Kunwar after 1848 known as Dhir Shamsher Kunwar Ranaji or Dhir Shamsher Jang Kunwar Ranaji or shortly Dhir Shamsher Rana posthumously known as Dhir Shamsher Jang Bahadur Rana was a Nepalese politician, army general and minister of state. He served as the Commander-In-Chief of the Nepalese Army from 1879 to 1884 A.D. He was born in Kunwar family as the youngest son of Kaji Bal Narsingh Kunwar and Ganesh Kumari Thapa, daughter of Kaji Nain Singh Thapa of Thapa dynasty. Dhir Shamsher was the youngest brother of Jang Bahadur Kunwar Ranaji, who rose to premiership of Nepal after the murders of influential persons - Mathabarsingh Thapa and Gagan Singh Bhandari and the incidence of Kot Massacre. Dhir was personally involved in the massacre protecting his nearly slaughtered brother Krishna Bahadur Kunwar Rana. Dhir became military Colonel after the incident. He was in the entourage of Jung Bahadur's visit of Europe in the early 1850s.
Kushal Bhurtel is a Nepalese cricketer. In November 2019, he was named in Nepal's squad for the 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Bangladesh. He made his List A debut for Nepal, against India, in the Emerging Teams Cup on 14 November 2019. Prior to his List A debut, he was named in Nepal's squad for the 2016 Under-19 Cricket World Cup. Later the same month, he was also named in Nepal's squad for the men's cricket tournament at the 2019 South Asian Games. The Nepalese team won the bronze medal, after they beat the Maldives by five wickets in the third-place playoff match.
Jagat Jung Kunwar Rana, popularly known as Jagat Jung Rana was a Nepalese politician, military officer and courtier in the Kingdom of Nepal. He was the eldest son of the founder of Rana dynasty, Jung Bahadur Kunwar Rana. He claimed the Premiership of Kingdom of Nepal and the throne of Maharaja of Lamjung and Kaski against the traditional agnatic succession of the Rana dynasty. Driven by this motive, he attempted a coup against his uncles; Maharaja Prime Minister Ranodip Singh Kunwar and Commander-In-Chief Dhir Shamsher Kunwar Rana in the winter of 1881–1882. He was immediately thrown out of the roles of succession among Ranas. Later, he was pardoned and was impeased by Ranodip Singh as his successor after the death of Dhir Shamsher, which caused envy among his Shamsher cousins and ultimately led to his death in the 1885 Shamsher coup.
Aasif Sheikh is a Nepalese cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and an occasional wicket-keeper. He made his debut for Nepal against Netherlands in April 2021.
Jit Jung Kunwar Rana was the Commander-In-Chief of the Nepalese Army from 14 October 1884 to 1885.
