Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum (Arabic: مكتوم بن راشد آل مكتوم; Maktūm bin Rāshid Āl Maktūm; was the vice president and prime minister of the United Arab Emirates during 2–3 November 2004 and the ruler of Dubai from 7 October 1990 until 4 January 2006.

1996 AFC Asian Cup International football competition

The 1996 AFC Asian Cup was the 11th edition of the men's AFC Asian Cup, a quadrennial international football tournament organised by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). The finals were held in the United Arab Emirates between 4 and 21 December 1996. Saudi Arabia defeated hosts United Arab Emirates in the final match in Abu Dhabi. As the runners-up, the United Arab Emirates represented the AFC in the 1997 FIFA Confederations Cup as the winners Saudi Arabia had qualified automatically as host.

E 11 road (United Arab Emirates) Road in the United Arab Emirates

E 11 is a highway in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The longest road in the Emirates, it stretches from Al-Silah in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and ends in Ras al-Khaimah emirate, running roughly parallel to UAE's coastline along the Persian Gulf. The road forms the main artery in some emirates' main cities, where it assumes various alternate names —Sheikh Maktoum Bin Rashid Road and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Road in Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai, and Sheikh Muhammad bin Salem Road in Ras al-Khaimah.

2003 FIFA World Youth Championship International football competition

The 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship took place in United Arab Emirates between 27 November and 19 December 2003. U20 Brazil claimed their fourth title. The 2003 championship was the 14th contested. The tournament was originally planned to be played 25 March to 16 April 2003, but was postponed because of the Iraq War.
