Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum, also referred to as Sheikh Maktoum (honorific) was the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the emir (ruler) of Dubai.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is the Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and ruler of the Emirate of Dubai. Since his accession in 2006, after the death of his brother Sheikh Maktoum, he has undertaken reforms in the UAE's government, starting with the UAE Federal Government Strategy in April 2007.
Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum was the Vice-President and 2nd Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of the Emirate of Dubai. He ruled the emirate for 32 years from 1958 until his death in 1990.

Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum is the Deputy Ruler of Dubai and the Minister of Finance and Industry of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He is the second son of the late ruler Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
The Al Maktoum family is the ruling royal family of the Emirate of Dubai, and one of the six ruling families of the United Arab Emirates. The family is a branch of the Bani Yas clan. The Al Maktoum family descends from the Al Bu Falasah section of the Bani Yas, a tribal federation that was the dominant power throughout most of what is now the United Arab Emirates.
Sheikh Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was the oldest son of United Arab Emirates vice president, prime minister and ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum bin Juma Al Maktoum. At the age of 33 he died of a heart attack on 18 September 2015.
The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), formerly known as Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation, was founded on May 19, 2007 when Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced his plans to give 10 billion USD to set up the foundation, an educational foundation in the Middle East. This was one of the largest charitable donations in history. Sheikh Mohammed stated that the money is meant to bridge the knowledge gap between the Arab region and the developed world, improving the standard of education and research in the region, developing leadership programs for youth, and stimulating job creation. The announcement was made at the 2007 World Economic Forum in Jordan. The foundation funds in three areas: Culture, Entrepreneurship and Employment; and Knowledge and Education.
