The 1st SIIMA Short Film Awards were presented on 14 May 2017 at Hyderabad, Telangana [1] and 28 May 2017 at Chennai, Tamil Nadu to honour the best achievements of the short films produced in Telugu & Kannada [2] and Tamil languages respectively in the previous years. [3] A total of 21 Awards were given to the talented proffessionals across all categories in three languages. [4]

Radha Krishna "Krish" Jagarlamudi is an Indian film director known for his works in Telugu and Hindi films. He made his directorial debut in 2008 with Gamyam and followed it up with Vedam in 2010. Both films garnered widespread critical acclaim, fetching him the Nandi Award and Filmfare Award for Best Director. In 2015, he directed the period war drama film, Kanche. Set in Nazi Germany, the film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu. Kanche was selected for the Indiwood Panorama Competition section at the 2nd edition of Indiwood Carnival 2016 in Hyderabad. In 2017, his directorial venture Gautamiputra Satakarni gained critical acclaim and was a huge box office success. He directed the epic Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi which released on 25 January 2019.

<i>Rudhramadevi</i> (film)

Rudramadevi is a 2015 Indian Telugu-language-language 3D biographical action film based on the life of Rudrama Devi, one of the prominent rulers of the Kakatiya dynasty in the Deccan, and one of the few ruling queens in Indian history. The film written and directed by Gunasekhar features Anushka Shetty in a titular role as Rudramadevi, alongside an ensemble cast of Allu Arjun, Rana Daggubati, Krishnam Raju, Prakash Raj, Suman, Nithya Menen, Adithya, and Catherine Tresa. The film is narrated by Chiranjeevi. The film's soundtrack and background score were composed by Ilaiyaraaja.

<i>Ghazi</i> (film)

Ghazi is a 2017 Indian war film written and directed by Sankalp Reddy. The film is shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi with the latter titled as The Ghazi Attack. Based on the mysterious sinking of PNS Ghazi during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971, the film stars Rana Daggubati, Taapsee Pannu, Kay Kay Menon and Atul Kulkarni. The film which was released worldwide on 17 February 2017 in Telugu and Hindi along with dubbed version in Tamil, opened to positive reviews.

SIIMA Award for Best Actor - Telugu is presented by Vibri media group as part of its annual South Indian International Movie Awards, for the best acting done by an actor in Telugu films. The award was first given in 2012 for films released in 2011. Mahesh Babu is the most awarded winner with 3 times winning the award.

Shraddha Srinath Indian film actress and model

Shraddha Srinath is an Indian film actress and model who predominantly appears in Kannada films and also in other south Indian languages like Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. Malayalam film Kohinoor is the first film and she gained wide acclaim for her role in the Kannada psychological thriller U Turn (2016) for which she won the Filmfare Award for Best Actress and also for her performances in Jersey, Urvi, Vikram Vedha, Nerkonda Paarvai and Operation Alamelamma. He has worked for 150 digital short films and independent films from 2015 to present in English, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Tamil, Silent films and other languages.

The 7th South Indian International Movie Awards is an awards event held at Dubai on September 14 and 15, 2018. It aims to recognize notable films and performances from the past year in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam,and Kannada films along with special honors for lifetime contributions and a few special awards. The nomination list for the main awards was announced in June 2017.

SIIMA Award for Best Male Debut (Telugu)

SIIMA Award for Best Male Debut - Telugu is presented by Vibri media group as part of its annual South Indian International Movie Awards, for the best acting done by an actor in a leading role in his debut Telugu film. The award was first given in 2012 for films released in 2011.

SIIMA Short Film Awards is an award ceremony held annually to award the excellence in Short Films of four different languages – Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
