The 2001 Cape Verdean Football Championship season was the 22nd of the competition of the first-tier football in Cape Verde. The competition started on 7 April and finished on 6 June, 2001. The tournament was organized by the Cape Verdean Football Federation. [1] Onze Unidos won their first and only title. No club participated in the 2001 CAF Champions League and the 2001 CAF Winners Cup.

Overview

FC Derby was the defending team of the title. A total of 7 clubs. It was one of the few seasons that the total number of points would be the champion, it had fewer games compared to other football leagues. No club came from Boa Vista and Santiago islands as the championship were cancelled.

The league was contested by 7 teams with Onze Unidos winning the championship. [1] 21 matches were played and a total of 55 goals were scored.

Onze Unidos finished with 14 points which became the highest number of points in the national championships with the extension of the matches from five to eight overall. The point record lasted only a year when Sporting and Batuque took the record in the following season.

No second place club participated in the 2007 CAF Confederation Cup.

Vulcânicos Futebol Clube or Vulcânico Clube do Fogo is a football club that had played in the Premier division and plays in the Fogo Island Division in Cape Verde. It is based in São Filipe the island of Fogo. The club has a total of nine island titles. Académica do Fogo are one of the unrelegated clubs on the island which includes Académica and Botafogo. Its current chairman is Raúl Santos who recently became in May 2017, its manager is Danildo Diniz and its goalkeeping coach is Emanuel Gomes.

Its started on 11 May and finished on 13 July, slightly earlier than last year. The tournament was organized by the Cape Verdean Football Federation. CS Mindelense won the ninth title. They did not participate in the 2014 CAF Champions League. In 2014, Mindelense would become the second and most recent club to win both the cup and the super cup title in the same season.

GD Amarantes won their first and only title. The tournament was organized by the Cape Verdean Football Federation. FC Derby won their second title and later participated in the 2001 CAF Champions League the following year. Sporting Clube da Praia would be the only time that a non-participant would participate in the 2000 CAF Winners Cup, the criteria for qualification was not continued.

The 2017 Cape Verdean Football Championship season was the 38th beginner level competition of the first-tier football in Cape Verde. It started on 13 May and finished on 27 August, it started a days later than last season. Originally to finish on 15 July, instead, it was rescheduled to 27 August. The championship was governed by the Cape Verdean Football Federation.

The 2012 Cape Verdean Cup season was the 5th competition of the regional football cup in Cape Verde. The season started on 11 August and finished with the cup final on 24 August. The cup competition was organized by the Cape Verdean Football Federation. Maio's Onze Unidos won their only title.
