The 30th European Men's Artistic Gymnastics Championships was held from 23 to 27 May 2012 at Montpellier. The senior and junior events are different. During the senior's qualification the top eight teams progress to the team final, and the top eight gymnasts on each apparatus qualify for the individual finals. After the qualification for the juniors the team medals and places are awarded. Unlike the seniors in this event the top 24 gymnasts compete in the all around final.

Yana Alexeyevna Kudryavtseva is a retired Russian individual rhythmic gymnast. She is the 2016 Olympic All-around silver medalist, three-time World Champion in the All-around (2013–2015), the 2015 European Games All-around champion, two-time European Championships All-around champion, the 2012 European Junior ball champion. In national level, she is a two-time Russian National All-around champion and three time Russian Junior National all-around champion.

Angelina Romanovna Melnikova is a Russian artistic gymnast. With eleven Olympic and World medals, she is the joint third-most decorated Russian gymnast of all time. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics she led the Russian Olympic Committee to gold in the team competition. She previously represented Russia at the 2016 Summer Olympics, winning a silver medal in the team competition. She was also a member of the gold medal-winning Russian teams at the 2016 and 2018 European Championships, and the silver medal-winning Russian teams at the 2018 and 2019 World Championships.

The 30th Rhythmic Gymnastics European Championships took place from June 10 to June 15, 2014 at the newly opened National Gymnastics Arena in Baku, Azerbaijan. 33 participating federations with their juniors and seniors gymnasts participated at the event.

Catherine Lyons is a former British artistic gymnast. She has represented Great Britain numerous times in a prodigious junior career, most notably at the 2014 European Championships where she was crowned Junior European Floor Champion as well as taking home a silver with the team. Lyons retired from the sport in 2018, aged 17.

Luke Greenbank is an English professional swimmer who specialises in backstroke. A medalist in the 200 metre backstroke at the Olympic Games and the World and European championships, he also swam the first leg in the 2019 World and 2020 European Championship gold medal-winning Great Britain medley relay teams. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, many competitors withdrew from the competition, such as Russia, Italy, and the Belarusian and Bulgarian groups.

Pieter Coetze is a South African swimmer. He is the African record holder in the long course 100 metre backstroke. At the 2022 Commonwealth Games, he won the gold medal in the 100 metre backstroke, the silver medal in the 50 metre backstroke, and the bronze medal in the 200 metre backstroke. At the 2022 World Junior Championships he competed in ten events, including winning the gold medal in the 200 metre backstroke, silver medals in the 50 metre backstroke, 100 metre backstroke, and the 4×100 metre medley relay, as well as a bronze medal in the 4×100 metre mixed medley relay.

Matthew "Matt" Sates is a South African swimmer. For the 2021 FINA Swimming World Cup, Sates was the highest scoring male competitor from any country and earned a total of 18 medals including 13 gold medals. In addition to winning 18 medals, Sates set multiple world junior records over the course of the month-long World Cup. He competed at the 2020 Summer Olympics in two individual events, placing highest in the 200 metre individual medley at 14th as well as placing 32nd in the 100 metre butterfly. He won the NCAA title in the 500 yard freestyle at the 2022 NCAA Championships.

Shi Cong is a Chinese artistic gymnast. He competed in the Junior Asian Gymnastics Championships in 2017 and 2018 in Bangkok and Jakarta respectively. In 2017 we won a silver medal with the Chinese junior team. In 2018 He won the gold for the all-around competition as well as two bronzes on high bar and floor exercise. As a senior, he was part of the team sent to compete at the 2021 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Kitakyushu. He qualified in 4th in the all-around and placed 6th in the all-around final. He also placed 4th in the parallel bar qualifiers, but was surpassed by his teammates Hu Xuwei and Zhang Boheng and was therefore not able to qualify. After Zhang Boheng won the all-around final, he withdrew from event final competition and Shi Cong was given a spot in the parallel bar final. In the final he went on to win the bronze medal.

Lewis Edward Burras is a British competitive swimmer. He is the British record holder in the long course 100 metre freestyle. At the 2022 World Aquatics Championships, he won a bronze medal in the 4×100 metre medley relay, swimming freestyle on the prelims relay, placed seventh in the 50 metre freestyle and seventh in the 100 metre freestyle. He won the bronze medal in the 50 metre freestyle and a silver medal in the 4×100 metre mixed medley relay, swimming freestyle in the preliminaries, at the 2018 European Junior Swimming Championships.
