The 2004 WNBA season was the 5th season for the Indiana Fever. The Fever missed the playoffs due to the strong competitivity in the Eastern Conference. As of the 2010 season, this was the last season Indiana had missed the playoffs.

The 2002 WNBA season was their fourth season and their last in Orlando. The Miracle missed out of the playoffs by losing in a tiebreaker to the Indiana Fever. It was also the final season in Orlando.

The Fever finished with a record of 17–17, third in the Eastern Conference and fifth overall. The Fever made the First Round of the 2016 WNBA Playoffs, losing to the Phoenix Mercury. It was the team's 13th appearance in the WNBA playoffs.
