The 54th Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature was held on September 1, 2004, at The Peninsula Manila in Makati to commemorate the memory of Don Carlos Palanca Sr. through an endeavor that would promote education and culture in the country. [1]
Isagani R. Cruz was this year's Palanca Hall of Fame awardee. Cruz clinched his fifth first prize for “The Lovely Bienvenido N. Santos” under the Full-Length Play category. The said award is given to writers who have won five (5) first places in any category. [2]

The 49th Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature was held to commemorate the memory of Don Carlos Palanca Sr. through an endeavor that would promote education and culture in the country. This year saw the inclusion of a new Kabataan Division with two categories, open for Essays/Sanaysay in English and Filipino.
The 51st Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature was held on September 1, 2001, at The Peninsula Manila in Makati to commemorate the memory of Don Carlos Palanca Sr. through an endeavor that would promote education and culture in the country. Ateneo de Manila University President Fr. Bienvenido Nebres, S.J. was Guest of Honor and Speaker at this year's awarding ceremony.

National Artist for Literature Edith Tiempo was Guest of Honor and Speaker at this year’s awarding ceremony.
The 57th Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature was held on September 1, 2007, at The Peninsula Manila in Makati to commemorate the memory of Don Carlos Palanca Sr. through an endeavor that would promote education and culture in the country. Senator Mar Roxas was Guest of Honor and Speaker at this year's awarding ceremony. This year saw the discontinuation of the Dulang Pantelebisyon category in the Filipino Division, after seventeen years. Also discontinued is the Future Fiction category, English and Filipino, after seven years.
The 61st Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature was held on September 1, 2011, at The Peninsula Manila in Makati to commemorate the memory of Don Carlos Palanca Sr. through an endeavor that would promote education and culture in the country. National Artist for Literature Francisco Sionil Jose was Guest of Honor and Speaker at this year’s awarding ceremony.
