The 67th Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature was held on September 1, 2017, at The Peninsula Manila in Makati to commemorate the memory of Don Carlos Palanca Sr. through an endeavor that would promote education and culture in the country. The 57th Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature was held on September 1, 2007, at The Peninsula Manila in Makati to commemorate the memory of Don Carlos Palanca Sr. through an endeavor that would promote education and culture in the country. Senator Mar Roxas was Guest of Honor and Speaker at this year's awarding ceremony. This year saw the discontinuation of the Dulang Pantelebisyon category in the Filipino Division, after seventeen years. Also discontinued is the Future Fiction category, English and Filipino, after seven years.

This year’s roster of winners almost equally distributed among Palanca veterans (57%) and first-time winners (43%). Done every other three years, the “Novel” was once more part of the 20 categories in this year’s competition. Education Secretary Jesli Lapus of the Department of Education was Guest of Honor and Speaker at this year’s awarding ceremony.

According to the Palanca Foundation, 62 percent of this year’s awardees were first time winners. National Artist for Literature Bienvenido Lumbera was Guest of Honor and Speaker at this year’s awarding ceremony. This year saw the inclusion of a new category, Poetry Written for Children/Tulang Pambata, in both the English and Filipino Divisions.
The 60th Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature was held on September 1, 2010, at The Peninsula Manila in Makati to commemorate the memory of Don Carlos Palanca Sr. through an endeavor that would promote education and culture in the country. Among the 50 awardees this year, more than half or 27 are former winners who have already won a Palanca before, while 46 percent or 23 are new winners. This year's youngest winner was aged 12 while the oldest was 66. Gregorio Brillantes was Guest of Honor and Speaker at this year's awarding ceremony.

The 62nd Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature was held on September 1, 2012, at The Peninsula Manila in Makati to commemorate the memory of Don Carlos Palanca Sr. through an endeavor that would promote education and culture in the country. This year, the Palanca received a total of 1,077 entries in 20 categories. Out of these submissions, 59 winning works were selected from 58 writers – with half are first-time winners. Department of Tourism Secretary Ramon R. Jimenez Jr. was Guest of Honor and Speaker at this year’s awarding ceremony.
The 63rd Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature was held on September 1, 2013, at The Peninsula Manila in Makati to commemorate the memory of Don Carlos Palanca Sr. through an endeavor that would promote education and culture in the country. The competition received more than 1,100 literary entries, and of the number, the judges picked 58 winning pieces. National Artist for Literature Cirilo F. Bautista was guest of honor and speaker at the awarding ceremony.
The 69th Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature was held on November 8, 2019, at the Peninsula Hotel Manila in Makati to commemorate the memory of Don Carlos Palanca Sr. through an endeavor that would promote education and culture in the country. Fifty-six writers, 32 of whom won the award for the first time, received the prestigious literary award. There were a total of 22 writing categories, with the bi-annual Novel and Novela categories open for this year. Dr. Cristina Pantoja-Hidalgo was Guest of Honor and Speaker at this year’s awarding ceremony.
