The 63rd Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature was held on September 1, 2013, at The Peninsula Manila in Makati to commemorate the memory of Don Carlos Palanca Sr. through an endeavor that would promote education and culture in the country. The competition received more than 1,100 literary entries, and of the number, the judges picked 58 winning pieces. National Artist for Literature Cirilo F. Bautista was guest of honor and speaker at the awarding ceremony. [1] [2]

Done every other three years, the “Novel” was once more part of the 20 categories in this year’s competition. Education Secretary Jesli Lapus of the Department of Education was Guest of Honor and Speaker at this year’s awarding ceremony.

According to the Palanca Foundation, 62 percent of this year’s awardees were first time winners. National Artist for Literature Bienvenido Lumbera was Guest of Honor and Speaker at this year’s awarding ceremony. This year saw the inclusion of a new category, Poetry Written for Children/Tulang Pambata, in both the English and Filipino Divisions.

The 62nd Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature was held on September 1, 2012, at The Peninsula Manila in Makati to commemorate the memory of Don Carlos Palanca Sr. through an endeavor that would promote education and culture in the country. This year, the Palanca received a total of 1,077 entries in 20 categories. Out of these submissions, 59 winning works were selected from 58 writers – with half are first-time winners. Department of Tourism Secretary Ramon R. Jimenez Jr. was Guest of Honor and Speaker at this year’s awarding ceremony.

The awarding body received almost a thousand entries this year in 20 categories. Antonio “Tony” Mabesa was guest of honor and speaker at the awarding ceremony.

The 67th Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature was held on September 1, 2017, at The Peninsula Manila in Makati to commemorate the memory of Don Carlos Palanca Sr. through an endeavor that would promote education and culture in the country. Fifty-one writers were awarded this year, with 23 of them being first-time awardees. Dr. Jose “Butch” Dalisay Jr. was Guest of Honor and Speaker at this year's awarding ceremony.

The 68th Don Carlos Palanca Memorial Awards for Literature was held on October 5, 2018, at The Peninsula Manila in Makati to commemorate the memory of Don Carlos Palanca Sr. through an endeavor that would promote education and culture in the country. A total of 54 writers, 28 of which were first-time awardees, were chosen as this year's batch of winners. Alfred “Krip” Yuson was Guest of Honor and Speaker at this year's awarding ceremony.
