The 2006–07 Florida A&M Rattlers men's basketball team represented Florida A&M University during the 2006–07 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Rattlers, led by third-year head coach Mike Gillespie, played their home games at the Teaching Gym as members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. They finished the season 21–14, 12–6 in MEAC play to finish in a tie for 2nd place. They won the MEAC tournament to secure the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament as one of two 16 seeds in the West region. The Rattlers tipped off tournament action in the Play-in Game against Niagara and were defeated by the Purple Eagles, 77–69. [1]

The Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) is a collegiate athletic conference whose full members are historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in the Southeastern and the Mid-Atlantic United States. It participates in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I, and in football, in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS).
The Florida A&M Rattlers represent Florida A&M University (FAMU) in college athletics. Florida A&M is a member of the Southwestern Athletic Conference and participates in NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). FAMU offers men's sports in baseball, basketball, football, golf, and track and field. It offers women's sports in basketball, bowling, cheerleading, cross country, softball, tennis, track and field and volleyball.
The 2012–13 Florida A&M Rattlers basketball team represented Florida A&M University during the 2012–13 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Rattlers, led by second year head coach Clemon Johnson, played their home games at the Teaching Gym and were members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. They finish the season 8–23, 5–11 in MEAC play to finish in a tie for ninth place. They lost in the first round of the MEAC tournament to North Carolina A&T.

They finished the season 2–27, 2–14 in MEAC play to finish in last place. Due to failing to meet APR requirements, the Rattlers were banned from postseason play including the MEAC tournament.

The Rattlers, led by first-year head coach Robert McCullum, played their home games at the Teaching Gym in Tallahassee, Florida as members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. They finished the season 9–25, 7–9 in MEAC play to finish in a tie three-way tie for seventh place. As the No. 9 seed in the MEAC tournament, they defeated Howard before losing to Hampton in the quarterfinals,
The 2017–18 Howard Bison men's basketball team represented Howard University during the 2017–18 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Bison, led by eighth-year head coach Kevin Nickelberry, played their home games at Burr Gymnasium in Washington, D.C. as members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. They finished the season 10–23, 7–9 in MEAC play to finish in a three-way tie for seventh place. As the No. 8 seed in the MEAC tournament, they lost in the first round to Florida A&M.
The 2018–19 Florida A&M Rattlers basketball team represented Florida A&M University in the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They played their home games at the Teaching Gym in Tallahassee, Florida, and were led by second year head coach Robert McCullum as members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. Florida A&M is ineligible for postseason play due to failure to meet the APR multi-year threshold. They finished the season 12–19 overall, 9–7 in MEAC play, finishing in a tie for fifth place.
The 1991 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference men's basketball tournament took place February 27–March 2, 1991, at Norfolk Scope in Norfolk, Virginia. Number five seed Florida A&M defeated three seed Delaware State, 84–80 in the championship game, to win its first MEAC Tournament title.

The Rattlers, led by fourth-year head coach Robert McCullum, played their home games at the Al Lawson Center in Tallahassee, Florida as members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. With the creation of divisions to cut down on travel due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they played in the Southern division. They finished the season 8–12, 7–5 in MEAC play to finish in second place in the Southern division. They lost to Morgan State in the quarterfinals of the MEAC tournament.

The 2004 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference men's basketball tournament took place March 8–13, 2004, at the Arthur Ashe Athletic Center in Richmond, Virginia. Florida A&M defeated Eagles, 58–51 in the championship game, to capture its first MEAC Tournament title. The Rattlers earned an automatic bid to the 2004 NCAA tournament as No. 16 seed in the East region. In the play-in round, Florida A&M defeated Lehigh to advance to the round of 64 where they fell to No. 1 seed Kentucky 96–76.

The 1983–84 North Carolina A&T Aggies men's basketball team represented North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University during the 1983–84 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Aggies, led by fifth-year head coach Don Corbett, played their home games at the Corbett Sports Center as members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. They finished the season 22–7, 9–1 in MEAC play to finish in first place. They were champions of the MEAC tournament, winning the championship game over Morgan State, to earn an automatic bid to the 1984 NCAA tournament where they were defeated by Morehead State, 70–69, in the play-in round.
The 1987–88 North Carolina A&T Aggies men's basketball team represented North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University during the 1987–88 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Aggies, led by 9th-year head coach Don Corbett, played their home games at the Corbett Sports Center as members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. They finished the season 26–3, 16–0 in MEAC play to finish in first place by 5 games. They were champions of the MEAC tournament, winning the championship game over Florida A&M, to earn an automatic bid to the 1988 NCAA tournament – the school's 7th straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament – where they were defeated by No. 3 seed Syracuse, 69–55, in the opening round.
The 2006–07 Niagara Purple Eagles men's basketball team represented Niagara University during the 2006–07 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Purple Eagles, led by ninth-year head coach Joe Mihalich, played their home games at the Gallagher Center in Lewiston, New York as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. They finished the season 23–12, 13–5 in MAAC play to finish in second place. They defeated Rider, Loyola, and Siena to win the MAAC tournament and secure the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament as one of two 16 seeds in the West region. The Purple Eagles defeated Florida A&M, 77–69, in the Play-in Game to reach the field of 64 where No. 1 seed Kansas dominated Niagara by the score of 107–67.

The Rattlers, led by third-year head coach Mickey Clayton, played their home games at the Teaching Gym as members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. They finished the season 12–19, 8–11 in MEAC play to finish in 8th place in the conference regular season standings. They broke through to win four games to capture the MEAC tournament and secure the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament – the first appearance in school history. Playing as No. 16 seed in the East region, The Rattlers were defeated by No. 1 overall seed and eventual National runner-up Duke, 99–58.
