The 2008 Kazakhstan Premier League was the 17th season of the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest football league competition in Kazakhstan, and took place between 8 March and 5 November. [1] [2]
For the 2007 season, Megasport and Energetik were promoted to the Premier League, replacing Taraz and Ekibastuzets, who had been thrown out of the league for Match fixing, [3]

Because Aktobe and Tobol were tied on points and number of wins after the regular season, they played out the championship in a decision game.

The Kazakhstan Professional Football League, commonly referred to as Kazakh Premier League or simply Premier League, is the top division of football in Kazakhstan. The League is controlled by the Football Federation of Kazakhstan and was set up in 1992. The League is fed into by the First Division and starts in spring and finishes in late autumn because of the low temperatures in the winter, with each championship corresponding to a calendar year. The majority of matches have been played at weekends in recent seasons.
This page summarises the results and performance of Kazakhstani football clubs in international competitions. Clubs began participating in the competitions of the Asian Football Confederation from the 1994–95 season until the 2000–01 season. No clubs participated in continental competitions during the 2001–02 season, as the Football Federation of Kazakhstan finalised their switch to become the 52nd member of UEFA. Kazakhstani clubs have played in UEFA competitions since the 2002–03 season. FC Astana-64, in the 2007–08 UEFA Champions League, were the first club to advance in a European tournament. Tobol reached the second qualifying round of the UEFA Cup by winning three rounds of the Intertoto Cup in 2007. Shakhter Karagandy were the first team to reach group stage of any competition in 2013, qualifying to UEFA Europa League after being defeated in UEFA Champions League play-off round. Astana became the first ever Kazakhstani team to reach UEFA Champions League group stage in 2015, passing three rounds of qualification and play-offs. Astana also became the first ever Kazakhstani team to qualify for knockout stage of any European competition in 2017, by finishing runner-up in 2017–18 UEFA Europa League group stage. In 2021 Kairat became the first ever Kazakhstani club to compete in the group stage of inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League.

The 2006 Kazakhstan Premier League was the 15th season of the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest football league competition in Kazakhstan, and took place between 31 March and 10 November.
The 2005 Kazakhstan Premier League was the 14th season of the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest football league competition in Kazakhstan, and took place between 2 April and 6 November.
The 2009 Kazakhstan Premier League was the 18th season of the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest football league competition in Kazakhstan. It started on 7 March 2009 and ended in November 2009. Aktobe were the defending champions.

It started on 22 March 2010 and the regular season ended on 14 August 2010. The playoff rounds began on 22 August 2010 and ended on 6 November 2010. Aktobe are the defending champions, having won their fourth league title in five seasons and their third in a row last season.

The 2014 Kazakhstan Cup is the 23rd season of the Kazakhstan Cup, the annual nationwide football cup competition of Kazakhstan since the independence of the country. The competition begins on 22 April 2014, and will end with the final in November 2014. Shakhter Karagandy are the defending champions, having won their first cup in the 2013 competition.
The 2012 FC Astana season was the fourth successive season that Astana played in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest tier of association football in Kazakhstan. They finished the season in 5th place whilst also winning the Kazakhstan Cup, and as a result qualified for the Europa League for the first time.
The 2011 FC Astana season was the third successive season that the club played in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest tier of association football in Kazakhstan. It was their first season competing as FC Astana having changed their name from Lokomotiv Astana, finishing the season in fourth place in the league and reaching the Second Round of the Kazakhstan Cup.

The 2009 Lokomotiv Astana season was the club's first season, during which they played in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest tier of association football in Kazakhstan. They finished the season in second place, but were denied a license by UEFA to play in the UEFA Europa League the following year. In the Kazakhstan Cup, Lokomotiv Astana were knocked out in the Second Round by FC Aktobe.
The 2011 FC Kairat season was the club's 2nd season back in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest tier of association football in Kazakhstan, since their promotion back to the top flight in 2009. Kairat finished the season in 11th place and reached the Quarterfinal of the Kazakhstan Cup.
The 2019 Kazakhstan Premier League was the 28th season of the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest football league competition in Kazakhstan. FC Astana defended their title, winning the championship for the sixth season in a row, whilst FC Atyrau and FC Aktobe were relegated and FC Taraz survived a relegation playoff against FC Akzhayik.
The 2019 FC Atyrau season was the 19th successive season that the club played in the Kazakhstan Premier League, the highest tier of association football in Kazakhstan. They reached the Kazakhstan Cup Final for the third year in succession, losing to FC Kaisar, whilst finishing 11th in the Kazakhstan Premier League, being relegated for the first time.
