The 2007–08 FA Cup was the 127th season of the world's oldest football knockout competition, the FA Cup. A record 731 clubs' entries were accepted for the competition.

Tennis at the 1912 Summer Olympics – Mens outdoor doubles

The outdoor men's doubles competition at the 1912 Summer Olympics was part of the tennis program for the games. There were 42 players from 10 nations, comprising 21 teams. Nations were limited to 4 pairs each. The event was won by South African team Harold Kitson and Charles Winslow, defeating Austrians Felix Pipes and Arthur Zborzil in the final. It was the first medal in the event for both nations. France earned its first men's double since 1900 as Albert Canet and Édouard Mény de Marangue defeated Jaroslav Just and Ladislav Žemla of Bohemia in the bronze medal match.

The 2008 end of year rugby tests, also known as the Autumn internationals saw Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Argentina, the Pacific Islanders and Canada tour the northern hemisphere. The tour ended with the traditional 'final challenge' Barbarians match, against Australia, which was the first rugby union Test at the new Wembley Stadium. It was the second longest championship match in Wimbledon history with play lasting 4 hours and 48 minutes, and with two rain delays. The event stretched over seven hours ending just before nightfall, and is considered by many as the greatest match in tennis history.

The 1962–63 FA Cup was the 82nd staging of the world's oldest football cup competition, the Football Association Challenge Cup, commonly known as the FA Cup. Manchester United won the competition for only the third time, beating Leicester City 3–1 in the final at Wembley.

The 1906–07 FA Cup was the 36th season of the world's oldest association football competition, the Football Association Challenge Cup. The Wednesday won the competition for the second time, beating holders Everton 2–1 in the final at Crystal Palace.

1903–04 FA Cup football tournament season

The 1903–04 FA Cup was the 33rd season of the world's oldest association football competition, the Football Association Challenge Cup. Manchester City won the competition for the first time, beating Bolton Wanderers 1–0 in the final at Crystal Palace, through a goal scored by Billy Meredith.

Jelena Janković Serbian tennis player

Jelena Janković is a Serbian professional tennis player. Janković is a former world No. 1 in singles, a ranking achieved preceding her finals appearance at the 2008 US Open. Janković has won 15 WTA singles titles and two doubles titles, her career highlights include winning the 2007 Wimbledon mixed-doubles title with Jamie Murray, the 2010 Indian Wells Masters, the Internazionali BNL d'Italia twice, in 2007 and 2008, and the aforementioned appearance in the finals of the 2008 US Open. She has not competed in any tournament since 2017.

In a repeat of the 2004 and 2005 finals, Roger Federer defeated Andy Roddick in the final, 5–7, 7–6(8–6), 7–6(7–5), 3–6, 16–14 to win the Gentlemen's Singles tennis title at the 2009 Wimbledon Championships for the sixth time. It became the longest men's singles final in Grand Slam tournament history with 77 games, breaking the record of 71 games set at the 1927 Australian Open. The match also had the longest fifth set (16–14) in a major men's singles final, surpassing the 11–9 fifth set in the 1927 French Open final. The match took 4 hours and 17 minutes to complete, and the fifth set alone lasted 95 minutes. By winning his 15th major, Roger Federer surpassed Pete Sampras' record of 14 major titles. This was Federer's 11th grass-court title, surpassing the previous record held by Sampras (10). In a rare occurrence, Roddick lost despite only having his serve broken once, in the last game of the match. By winning the title, Federer regained the ATP no. 1 singles ranking from Rafael Nadal for the first time since August 2008.

2013 World Table Tennis Championships

The 2013 World Table Tennis Championships were held at the Palais Omnisports de Paris-Bercy in Paris, France from May 13 to May 20, 2013. The Championships were the 52nd edition of the World Table Tennis Championships.

The badminton women's team tournament at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou took place from 13 November to 15 November at Tianhe Gymnasium.

The 2013–14 Irish Cup was the 134th edition of the premier knock-out cup competition in Northern Irish football since its introduction in 1881. The competition began on 7 September 2013 with the first round and ended on 3 May 2014 with the final. The competition ran without a principal sponsor, but for the second successive season the final was known as the Marie Curie Irish Cup final, after the IFA once again awarded the naming rights for the final to the charity Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The 1953 Campeonato Profesional was the sixth season of Colombia's top-flight football league. Twelve teams compete against one another and played each weekend. The tournament was notable for being the fifth and last year of El Dorado. Millonarios won the league for the fourth time in its history and for the third time in a row after getting 35 points.

Maria Sharapova won her second French Open title and fifth major title overall by defeating first-time finalist Simona Halep 6–4, 6–7(5–7), 6–4, to win the Women's Singles tennis title at the 2014 French Open. In a match that lasted over three hours, it was the first time since 2001 that the final went to three sets. Halep became the first Romanian to reach the final since Virginia Ruzici in 1980.
