Grigor Dimitrov is a Bulgarian professional tennis player. His career-high ATP singles ranking is world No. 3, which he achieved in November 2017 after winning the season-ending ATP Finals.
Daniel Alejandro López and Matteo Trevisan were the defending champions but did not compete in the Juniors this year.
Ričardas Berankis was the defending champion but, no longer competing in junior tennis, did not defend his title.
Roger Federer defeated Andy Roddick in the final, 5–7, 7–6(8–6), 7–6(7–5), 3–6, 16–14 to win the gentlemen's singles tennis title at the 2009 Wimbledon Championships. It was his sixth Wimbledon title and record-breaking 15th major title overall, passing Pete Sampras' all-time record. It was the longest men's singles major final in history with 77 games, breaking the record of 71 games set at the 1927 Australian Open. The match also had the longest fifth set (16–14) in a major men's singles final, surpassing the 11–9 fifth set in the 1927 French Open final. The match took 4 hours and 17 minutes to complete, and the fifth set alone lasted 95 minutes. It was a repeat of the 2004 and 2005 finals, where Federer also beat Roddick to win the title. This was Federer's 11th grass-court title, surpassing the previous record held by Sampras (10). Notably, Roddick lost despite only having his serve broken once, in the last game of the match. By winning the title, Federer regained the world No. 1 singles ranking.
Grigor Dimitrov was the defending champion, but did not complete in the Juniors this year.
Andrey Kuznetsov was the defending champion, but was no longer eligible to participate in the juniors.
Andy Murray defeated Novak Djokovic in the final, 6–4, 7–5, 6–4 to win the Gentlemen's Singles tennis title at the 2013 Wimbledon Championships. He became the first British man to win the Wimbledon men's singles title since Fred Perry in 1936, ending a 76-year drought, as well as the first British winner in singles since Virginia Wade won the women's event in 1977. He was also the first Scot to win the Wimbledon men's singles title since Harold Mahony in 1896. Djokovic advanced to the final after a five-set semifinal against Juan Martín del Potro. At 4 hours and 43 minutes this match was the then-longest semifinal ever contested at Wimbledon, breaking the previous record set by Boris Becker and Ivan Lendl in 1989.
Filip Peliwo was the defending champion, but was no longer eligible to compete in junior tennis, and thus could not defend his title.
Jonathan Marray and Frederik Nielsen were the defending champions, but decided not to play together. Marray played alongside Colin Fleming but lost to Robert Lindstedt and Daniel Nestor in the third round. Nielsen paired with Grigor Dimitrov but they lost to Julien Benneteau and Nenad Zimonjić in the second round.
Novak Djokovic defeated Roger Federer in the final, 6–7(7–9), 6–4, 7–6(7–4), 5–7, 6–4 to win the Gentlemen's Singles tennis title at the 2014 Wimbledon Championships. It was his second Wimbledon title and his seventh major title overall.
Marin Čilić defeated Kei Nishikori in the final, 6–3, 6–3, 6–3 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2014 US Open. It was Čilić's first major title, and he became the second Croatian to win a Grand Slam men's singles title after his coach Goran Ivanišević at the 2001 Wimbledon Championships.
Defending champion Novak Djokovic successfully defended his title, defeating Roger Federer in a rematch of the previous year's final, 7–6(7–1), 6–7(10–12), 6–4, 6–3 to win the Gentlemen's Singles tennis title at the 2015 Wimbledon Championships. It was his third Wimbledon title and ninth major title overall. Federer was vying to become the first man to win Wimbledon eight times, and became the first man in the Open Era to reach 10 finals at the same major.
Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecău were the defending champions, but lost in the first round to Jonathan Marray and Adil Shamasdin.
Leander Paes and Martina Hingis were the defending champions, but lost in the third round to Henri Kontinen and Heather Watson.
Wesley Whitehouse was the defending champion, but turned 18 years old during the season and, therefore, was ineligible to compete in Juniors.
Roger Federer defeated Rafael Nadal in the final, 6–4, 3–6, 6–1, 3–6, 6–3 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2017 Australian Open. It was his fifth Australian Open title, and record-extending 18th major title overall. Federer became the oldest major champion since Rosewall at the 1972 Australian Open. Nadal was attempting to become the first man in the Open Era to achieve a double career Grand Slam.
Roger Federer defeated Marin Čilić in the final, 6–3, 6–1, 6–4 to win the Gentlemen's Singles title at the 2017 Wimbledon Championships. It was his record eighth Wimbledon men's singles title and 19th major title overall. Federer also became the second man in the Open Era, after Björn Borg in 1976, to win Wimbledon without losing a set. This was Federer's 70th appearance at a major, tying the record for male players, and a record-breaking 11th men's singles final at the same major tournament. In addition, with his third-round win over Mischa Zverev, Federer won his 317th Grand Slam singles match, surpassing Serena Williams' record. With his first-round win, Federer surpassed Jimmy Connors' record for most match wins at Wimbledon. In the same match, he hit his 10000th ace, becoming only the third man to do so. The tournament marked the fifth time that Rafael Nadal and Federer won the French Open and Wimbledon, respectively, in the same year.
Novak Djokovic defeated Kevin Anderson in the final, 6–2, 6–2, 7–6(7–3) to win the Gentlemen's Singles tennis title at the 2018 Wimbledon Championships. It was his fourth Wimbledon title and 13th major title overall, passing Roy Emerson to outright fourth place on the all time men's singles major wins list. The win was also Djokovic's first title in over 12 months, his previous win having been at Eastbourne on July 1, 2017, and returned him to the top 10 in rankings. The Men's Singles competition was contested by all but one of the top 20 male players in the ATP as of 25 June 2018.
Mike Bryan and Jack Sock were the defending champions, but Sock could not participate due to injury. Mike Bryan played alongside his brother Bob, but lost in the third round to Nicolas Mahut and Édouard Roger-Vasselin.
Rafael Nadal defeated Daniil Medvedev in the final, 7–5, 6–3, 5–7, 4–6, 6–4 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2019 US Open. It was his fourth US Open title and 19th major title overall. Nadal's victory meant that every Grand Slam title since the beginning of 2017 had been won by either himself (5), Novak Djokovic (4) or Roger Federer (3). This was the first time since 2006–08 that Djokovic, Federer, and Nadal had claimed all four Grand Slam singles titles in three consecutive years.
