2012 European Womens Handball Championship

The 2012 European Women's Handball Championship was held in Serbia from 4 to 16 December. Originally the tournament was scheduled to be held in the Netherlands but on 4 June 2012 the Dutch Handball Federation withdrew from the organization. Subsequently, the European Handball Federation (EHF) launched a new bidding process and eventually selected Serbia as the new host on 18 June 2012.

The 2010–11 Azerbaijan Premier League was the nineteenth season of the Premier League since its establishment in 1992. The fixtures were announced on 29 July 2010; the season began on 7 August 2010 and ended on 28 May 2011. Neftchi Baku were the eventual champions, winning their first Azerbaijani championship since 2005.

The Gabala FC 2010–11 season was Gabala's fifth Azerbaijan Premier League season, which they finished in 7th position. They were knocked out of the Azerbaijan Cup by Baku at the Quarter Finals stage. It was their first season Tony Adams as their manager.

The 2011–12 Azerbaijan Premier League was the twentieth season of the Premier League since its establishment in 1992. Neftchi Baku was the defending champions, having won their second Azerbaijani championship the previous season.

The Gabala FC 2009-10 season was Gabala's fourth Azerbaijan Premier League season, and their fourth season under manager Ramiz Mammadov. They finished the season in sixth place and were knocked out of the Azerbaijan Cup at the last 16 stage by Olimpik-Shuvalan. Their kit was supplied by Erreà and their main sponsor was Hyundai.

The 2011–12 season was the 20th season of competitive football in Azerbaijan.

2016 European Womens Handball Championship

The 2016 European Women's Handball Championship was held in Sweden from 4 to 18 December 2016. It was the second time that Sweden hosts the tournament, after it also hosted the 2006 European Women's Handball Championship.

This list details major events in Azerbaijani football in 2010-11. In that year Neftçi PFK won the Azerbaijan Premier League championship, while Georgi Adamia of Qarabağ FK led the league with 18 goals that season.

The 2009–10 season is Neftchi Baku's eighteenth Azerbaijan Premier League season. They started the season under the management of Boyukaga Aghayev before he left by mutual consent in mid September. Aghayev was replaced by Vagif Sadygov, who lasted 5 months before being sacked in mid February and replaced by Arif Asadov.

The Khazar Lankaran 2010–11 season is Khazar Lankaran's fifth Azerbaijan Premier League season. It was Khazar's first season under Agaselim Mirjavadov. Khazar finished the season in 4th place and where runners-up in the Azerbaijan Cup.

The Qarabağ 2010-11 season was Qarabağ's eighteenth Azerbaijan Premier League season, and their third season under Gurban Gurbanov. They finished the season in 3rd place, and were knocked out of the 2010–11 Azerbaijan Cup at the Last 16 stage by Turan Tovuz. They also participated in the 2010–11 UEFA Europa League, entering at the First Qualifying Round stage. They beat Metalurg Skopje of Macedonia, before beating Portadown of Northern Ireland in the Second Qualifying Round. Next they beat Wisła Kraków of Poland in the Second Qualifying Round to make them the first Azerbaijani team to reach the Play-off Round of the Europa League. In this round they were defeated by Borussia Dortmund of Germany 5-0 on aggregate.

The Inter Baku 2009–10 season was Inter Baku's ninth Azerbaijan Premier League season, and their first season under manager Kakhaber Tskhadadze. Inter finished as Champions of the Azerbaijan Premier League, earning themselves entry into the 2010–11 UEFA Champions League at the Second qualifying round stage. They also participated in the 2009–Azerbaijan Cup, getting knocked out in the Semi-Final stage by eventual winners FK Baku, and the UEFA Europa League where they were beaten in the First Qualifying Round by Spartak Trnava of Slovakia 5-2 on aggregate.

The Qarabağ 2009-10 season was Qarabağ's seventeenth Azerbaijan Premier League season, and their second season under Gurban Gurbanov. They finished the season in 3rd place, and were knocked out of the 2009–10 Azerbaijan Cup at the quarterfinal stage by Khazar Lankaran. They also participated in the 2009–10 UEFA Europa League, entering at the Second Qualifying Round stage. They beat Rosenborg BK of Norway, before beating FC Honka of Finland in the Third Qualifying Round. This meant they faced FC Twente of the Netherlands in the Play-off Round, which they lost 1-3 on aggregate.

The Sumgayit 2012–13 season is Sumgayit's second Azerbaijan Premier League season, and second season under Bernhard Raab. Sumgayit also competed in the 2012–13 Azerbaijan Cup, getting knocked out by Baku at the Second round stage.

The 2014-15 season will be the 24th season of competitive association football in Azerbaijan.

2018 European Mens Handball Championship

The 2018 EHF European Men's Handball Championship was the 13th edition and was hosted for the second time in Croatia from 12 to 28 January 2018. Croatia was awarded hosting the tournament during the EHF congress in Dublin on 20 September 2014.

The 2016 season was the 111th season of competitive football in Norway.
