The 2010 Texas Longhorns baseball team represented the Texas Longhorns baseball program for the University of Texas in the 2010 NCAA Division I baseball season. Augie Garrido coached the team in his 14th season at Texas. [2]

Contents

Texas finished the regular season with a Big 12 Regular season title, their 6th in the Big 12. [3] They went on to host a Regional at UFCU Disch–Falk Field where they went 3–0, defeating Rider, Louisiana–Lafayette, and Rice and advancing to the Super Regionals. Texas hosted TCU for the Super Regional Round, falling to TCU in 3 games.

Texas outfielder Connor Rowe was named to the 2010 Big 12 Conference baseball tournament All-Tournament Team. [4] P Taylor Jungmann, C Cameron Rupp, SS Brandon Loy, OF Kevin Keyes, and DH Russel Moldenhauer were named to the NCAA Austin Regional All-Tournament Team. [5]

The 2010 NCAA Division I baseball season play of college baseball in the United States, organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began on February 19, 2010. The season progressed through the regular season, many conference tournaments and championship series, and concluded with the 2010 NCAA Division I baseball tournament and 2010 College World Series. The College World Series, which consisted of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA tournament, was held in its annual location of Omaha, Nebraska. It was the final College World Series held at Omaha's Rosenblatt Stadium, which closed following the event. It concluded on June 30, 2010, with the final game of the best of three championship series. South Carolina defeated UCLA two games to none to claim their first championship, which was also South Carolina's first national championship in any men's sport.

The 2009 Texas Longhorns baseball team represented the University of Texas at Austin in the 2009 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Longhorns played their home games at UFCU Disch–Falk Field. Texas finished the regular season as the #1 team in the Big 12 Conference and the #5 team nationally. The Longhorns won the 2009 Big 12 Conference baseball tournament to earn an automatic bid to the 2009 NCAA Division I baseball tournament, defeating the Missouri Tigers 12–7 in the final. Texas was selected as the #1 seed in the Austin super regional, and as the #1 National Seed overall. Texas went 5–1 in the Regionals, with their one loss coming to TCU in the super regional. They defeated the Horned Frogs in the regional final to advance to the College World Series, marking their 32nd appearance all-time, and first since 2005.
