The 2011 Manx Grand Prix Festival were held between Saturday 20 August and Friday 2 September 2011 on the 37.733-mile Mountain Course.

The Blue Riband event of the Manx Grand Prix Race week was won by Andrew Brady after victory in the 2011 Senior Manx Grand Prix at an average speed of 113.788 mph and also completing an important double after winning the Junior Manx Grand Prix held in poor weather conditions. The 3 lap (113.00 miles) Newcomers Race was won by Wayne Hamilton at an average speed of 112.022 mph and Gavin Lupton winning the 400 cc Class B Newcomers race. The Isle of Man TT competitor Ryan Farquhar completed a hattrick of victories after winning the 350 cc Junior Classic Race, the 500 cc Classic Race riding a 499 cc Paton and the Classic Superbike Race. The 250 cc Lightweight Classic Race was won by Barry Davidson and the Junior Classic Race by Roy Richardson raising his tally to 9 victories in the Manx Grand Prix. The Formula Classic Race was won by Mark Parrett the only finisher in the class from 4 starters. The combined 650 cc Supertwin/Lightweight Race proved to be a double win for local Isle of Man competitors with Dave Moffitt winning the inaugural Supertwin Race and Billy Smith the 400 cc Lightweight Race. The 2010 Lightweight Manx Grand Prix winner Neil Kent crashed fatally at Greeba Bridge during practice for the Manx Grand Prix. [1] After winning the 2011 Newcomers Race, Wayne Hamilton died in an accident at the 13th Milestone while in 3rd place of the 2011 Junior Manx Grand Prix [2] and the veteran competitor Adam Easton crashed fatally at Lambfell Cottage during the 500 cc Classic Race. [3]

A revised race format for the 2011 Manx Grand Prix with the introduction of a new 650 cc Super-Twin race and the reworking of the Classic Bike racing regulations by the race organisers, the Manx Motor-Cycle Club Committee (MMCC) and the Isle of Man Department of Community, Culture & Leisure. Improvements to the race structure include increased competitor safety with each race limited to a maximum of 90 entries. The practice of competitors starting in 'pairs' has been abandoned for the Isle of Man TT race practice of riders starting singly at 10 second intervals. [4]

Isle of Man TT Annual motorcycle race held on the Isle of Man

The Isle of Man TT or Tourist Trophy races are an annual motorcycle racing event run on the Isle of Man in May/June of most years since its inaugural race in 1907. The event is often called one of the most dangerous racing events in the world.

Manx Grand Prix

The Manx Grand Prix motorcycle races are held on the Isle of Man TT Course every year for a two-week period, usually spanning the end of August and early September.

The 1922 Isle of Man Tourist Trophy introduced a new race, within a race, for 250 cc motorcycles called the Lightweight TT, to be run concurrently with the already-established Junior 350 cc that took place on Tuesday 30 May, and Senior 500 cc race on Thursday 1 June.

Senior TT

The Senior Tourist Trophy is a motorcycle road race that takes place during the Isle of Man TT festival, an annual event traditionally held over the last week in May and the first week in June. The Senior TT is the Blue Riband event of the festival that takes place on the Friday of race week, with "The Marquis de Mouzilly St. Mars trophy" awarded to the winner.

Junior TT

The Junior TT is a motorcycle road race that takes place during the Isle of Man TT festival; an annual event at the end of May and beginning of June. Between 1949 and 1976 this race was part of the Grand Prix motorcycle racing season.

Lightweight TT Motorcycle race on the Isle of Man

The Lightweight TT is a motorcycle road race that is a part of the Isle of Man TT festival - an annual motorcycle event traditionally held over the last week of May and first week of June.

The 2006 Manx Grand Prix motorcycle races for amateur competitors took place from 28 August to 1 September over the Snaefell Mountain Course. The English rider Craig Atkinson won both the Junior and Senior Grand Prix races.

Sidecar TT

The Sidecar TT is a motorcycle-with-sidecar road race competition held over two legs which takes place during the Isle of Man TT festival, an annual event at the end of May and beginning of June. Between 1954 and 1976 this race was part of the Grand Prix motorcycle racing world championship.

William Raymond Amm was a Rhodesian professional Grand Prix motorcycle road racer. He competed in the FIM motorcycle Grand Prix world championships from 1951 to 1954. Amm was a six-time Grand Prix race winner including three victories at the Isle of Man TT when, he died in 1955 after an accident during a race in Italy.

The 2008 Manx Grand Prix was held between 18 and 30 August on the Mountain Course. The Senior event was won by the Welsh rider Adam Barclay, and the Junior and Ultra-Lightweight events by the Manx rider Dan Kneen, who also scored the fastest lap in three different races.

The 2009 Isle of Man TT Festival was held between Saturday 30 May and Friday 12 June on the 37.733-mile (60.725 km) Mountain Course. The 2009 TT races again include a second 600 cc Supersport Junior TT race and the Lightweight TT and Ultra-Lightweight TT races held on the 4.25-mile (6.84 km) Billown Circuit in the Isle of Man. A new event for the 2009 Isle of Man TT races was the one-lap TTXGP for racing motorcycles "to be powered without the use of carbon based fuels and have zero toxic/noxious emissions."

The 2009 Manx Grand Prix was held between Saturday 22 August and Friday 4 September 2009 on the 37.733-mile Mountain Course.

2010 Isle of Man TT

The 2010 Isle of Man TT Festival was held between Saturday 29 May and Friday 11 June on the 37.73-mile Isle of Man TT Mountain Course. The 2010 races again included a second 600 cc Supersport Junior TT race. The Lightweight TT and Ultra-Lightweight TT race class previously held on the 4.25-mile (6.84 km) Billown Circuit in the Isle of Man for the 2008 Isle of Man TT and 2009 Isle of Man TT were dropped from the 2010 race schedule. The 2010 Isle of Man TT Races included the one-lap TT Zero for racing motorcycles "to be powered without the use of carbon based fuels and have zero toxic/noxious emissions." which replaced the TTXGP and also a Suzuki 50th Anniversary Lap of Honour and the TT Classic Parade which were held before the main Senior TT race.

The 2010 Manx Grand Prix races were held between Saturday 21 August and Friday 3 September 2010 on the 37.733-mile Mountain Course.

2011 Isle of Man TT

The 2011 Isle of Man TT Festival was scheduled to be held between Monday 30 May and Friday 10 June 2011 on the 37.73-mile Snaefell Mountain Course in the Isle of Man. The main celebration for the 2011 Isle of Man TT Races the Milestones of the Mountain Course special parade lap held on 10 June 2011 to commemorate the centenary of the Isle of Man TT Mountain Course included the former FIM World Champions Giacomo Agostini and Phil Read. The 2011 Isle of Man TT Festival also included the Pre-TT Classic Races on 27, 28 and 30 May 2011 and the Post-TT Races on 11 June 2011 and both events held on the Billown Circuit.

2012 Manx Grand Prix

2012 Manx Grand Prix Festival and Races were held between Saturday 18 August and Friday 31 August 2012 on the 37.73-mile Snaefell Mountain Course.

2013 Isle of Man TT

The 2013 Isle of Man TT Races were held between the Saturday 25 May and Friday 7 June 2013 on the 37.73-mile Isle of Man TT Mountain Course in the Isle of Man. The event celebrated the 90th anniversary of the first Sidecar TT with a special parade lap for racing sidecar outfits. The 2014 Isle of Man TT Festival was held between Saturday 24 May and Friday 6 June 2014 on the 37.73-mile Isle of Man TT Mountain Course. The main races were six solo motorcycle races and two sidecar races. The festival also included Pre-TT Classic Races held on 23, 24 & 26 May 2014 at the Billown Circuit in Castletown. Post-TT races scheduled for 7 June 2014 were cancelled by race organisers on safety grounds due to a thunderstorm and heavy overnight rain.
