Kuwait Country in Western Asia

Kuwait, officially the State of Kuwait, is a country in Western Asia. Situated in the northern edge of Eastern Arabia at the tip of the Persian Gulf, it shares borders with Iraq and Saudi Arabia. As of 2016, Kuwait has a population of 4.5 million people: 1.3 million are Kuwaitis and 3.2 million are expatriates. Expatriates account for 70% of the population.

Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah emir of Kuwait

Sheikh Sabah IV Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah GCB (Hon) is the Emir of Kuwait and the Commander of the Kuwait Military Forces. He was sworn in on 29 January 2006 after confirmation by the National Assembly. He is the fourth son of Sheikh Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. His Highness the Amir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah was honored by the United Nations Organization on September 9, 2014 and named leader of humanitarian work. On March 2017, he has been awarded the Honorary Doctorate from Kuwait University for his humanitarian and global role.

Nasser Al-Sabah Prime Minister of Kuwait

Nasser Mohammed Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah is a Kuwaiti politician who served as Prime Minister of Kuwait from 7 February 2006 until resigning on 28 November 2011. He is the first prime minister to date that never became ruler or even crown prince.

Iran Country in Western Asia

Iran, also called Persia and officially known as the Islamic Republic of Iran, is a country in Western Asia. With over 81 million inhabitants, Iran is the world's 18th most populous country. Comprising a land area of 1,648,195 km2 (636,372 sq mi), it is the second largest country in the Middle East and the 17th largest in the world. Iran is bordered to the northwest by Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, to the north by the Caspian Sea, to the northeast by Turkmenistan, to the east by Afghanistan and Pakistan, to the south by the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman, and to the west by Turkey and Iraq. The country's central location in Eurasia and Western Asia, and its proximity to the Strait of Hormuz, give it geostrategic importance. Tehran is the country's capital and largest city, as well as its leading economic and cultural center.

Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Prime Minister of Kuwait

Sheikh Jaber al-Ahmad al-Sabah, GCB (Hon), GCMG (Hon) of the al-Sabah dynasty, was the Emir of Kuwait and Commander of the Military of Kuwait; serving from 31 December 1977 until his death on 15 January 2006 due to cerebral hemorrhage. The third monarch to rule Kuwait since its independence from Britain, Jaber had previously served as minister of finance and Economy from 1962 until 1965, when he was appointed prime minister prior to becoming Kuwait's ruler.

Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah is the Crown Prince of Kuwait and Deputy Commander of the Military of Kuwait. He is a half-brother of the Emir of Kuwait, Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Nawaf was nominated as Crown Prince on 7 February 2006 against the tradition of the Al-Sabah family, according to which the offices of Emir and Crown Prince alternate between the Al-Jaber and Al-Salem branches. He is currently the oldest Crown Prince in the world.

Jassem Al-Kharafi,, was a Kuwaiti billionaire businessman who was the speaker of the Kuwaiti National Assembly from 1999 to 2011. Al-Kharafi studied Business Administration at the Manchester Trade Faculty in Kuwait and was director of M. A. Kharafi & Sons before being elected to the National Assembly in 1975. He affiliated with the liberal deputies and was regarded as a pro-government liberal. However, Al-Kharafi has broken with the royal family on occasion. He criticized the ruling Al-Sabah family, and in July 2006 vigorously denounced the Israeli attacks on Lebanon saying that the war would "turn us all into terrorists".

Ahmed Al-Fahad Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah politician

Sheikh Ahmed Al-Fahad Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah is a Kuwaiti politician and sports administrator who is current president of Olympic Council of Asia and Asian Handball Federation. He is also a member of the International Olympic Committee. Al-Sabah was educated at Kuwait University and the Kuwait Military Academy, and attained the rank of major in the Kuwaiti Army. He has worked in the fields of oil, engineering, water and electricity, and communication and construction. He was a member of the FIFA Council from 2015 to 2017.

Musallam Al-Barrak is a Kuwaiti politician. He was a member of the Kuwaiti National Assembly, representing the fourth district.

Abdulatif AlـAmeeri is a member of the Kuwaiti National Assembly, representing the second district. Born in 1966, Al-Ameeri studied sharia law at Kuwait University and worked as a lawyer before being elected to the National Assembly in 2008. While political parties are technically illegal in Kuwait, Al-Ameeri affiliates with the Islamist Hadas party.

Mohammed Al-Mutair is a member of the Kuwaiti National Assembly, representing the second district. Born in 1969, Al-Mutair earned a BA in business administration and worked for an investment company before being elected to the National Assembly in 2003. Al-Mutair affiliates with the Islamist deputies.

Waleed Al-Tabatabaie is a member of the Kuwaiti National Assembly, who represents the third district. Born on 4 April 1964, Al-Tabtabaie obtained a PhD in Islamic studies from Al-Azhar and was an assistant professor at Kuwait University before being elected to the National Assembly in 1996. Al-Tabtabaie affiliated with the Islamist deputies.

The Kuwaiti protests refers to the series of 2011–12 demonstrations for government reforms in the state of Kuwait. In November 2011, the government of Kuwait resigned in response to the protests, making Kuwait one of several countries affected by the Arab Spring to experience major governmental changes due to unrest. The protests began with stateless people (Bedoon).

The Sheikh Nasser Bin Muhammad Al-Sabah Chair in International Relationships is a professorship or chair in the Institute for Middle East and Islamic Studies, which forms part of the School of Government and International Affairs at Durham University. The Chair is named after the former Prime Minister of Kuwait Sheikh Nasser Mohammed Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah originally endowed the chair in 2011.

Chief of the General Staff (Kuwait)

The Chief of the General Staff of Kuwait refers to the General Staff H.Q. of the Kuwait Army redesignated in 1953 following formation in 1949. The Chief of the General Staff of Kuwait Armed Forces of the State of Kuwait is the senior combat military officer governing doctrines of the Kuwait Army, the Kuwait Air Force and the Kuwait Naval Force, but excludes the Kuwait National Guard, the Kuwait Police and Kuwait Fire Service Directorate. He is appointed by the Kuwait Defense Minister, a deputy prime minister, who is appointed by the Prime Minister of Kuwait; the latter appointed by the Emir of Kuwait, the Commander-in-chief of the Military of Kuwait.
