Ricardo DaSilva II, better known by his stage name Swingfly, is an American–Swedish naturalised rapper and singer. He is also known by other aliases like Swing-Fly, Richie Pasta and Swing. He started lending his vocal talents to other artists' records, but has also developed also a solo career. He also appeared in Melodifestivalen 2011 with "Me and My Drum", finishing fifth. It became his most successful single, reaching the No. 2 position on the Swedish Singles Chart.

Swedish popular music, or shortly Swedish pop music, refers to music that has swept the Swedish mainstream at any given point in recent times. After World War II, Swedish pop music was heavily influenced by American jazz, and then by rock-and-roll from the U.S. and the U.K. in the 1950s and 1960s, before developing into dansband music. Since the 1970s, Swedish pop music has come to international prominence with bands singing in English, ranking high on the British, New Zealand, American, and Australian charts and making Sweden one of the world's top exporter of popular music by gross domestic product.

What's Up! was a Swedish boy band formed in Sweden in 2007. The original line-up consisted of Eric Saade, Robin Stjernberg, Luwdig "Ludde" Keijser and Johan Yngvesson. After Saade left the band in 2009 to pursue his solo career, Johannes Magnusson joined the band.

Sweden participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 with the song "Popular" written by Fredrik Kempe. The song was performed by Eric Saade. The Swedish broadcaster Sveriges Television (SVT) organised the national final Melodifestivalen 2011 in order to select the Swedish entry for the 2011 contest in Düsseldorf, Germany. After a six-week-long competition consisting of four heats, a Second Chance round and a final, "Popular" performed by Eric Saade emerged as the winner after achieving the highest score following the combination of votes from eleven international jury groups and a public vote.

Robin James Olof Stjernberg is a Swedish pop singer, songwriter and producer. He represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 on home soil on 18 May 2013 with the song "You". Stjernberg started his career in the boyband What's Up!, and became a contestant in Idol 2011, placing as first runner up in the final. He participated in Eurovision Song Contest 2017 as the songwriter for the song "I Can't Go On" performed by Robin Bengtsson, which ended up in fifth place.

Saade Vol. 1 is the second studio album by Swedish singer Eric Saade. It was released on 29 June 2011 by Roxy Recordings. After the Europe-wide success of his Eurovision 2011 entry "Popular", which brought Sweden its best result at the competition since 1999, Saade announced that his next album would be bipartite, divided into Saade Vol. 1 and Saade Vol. 2 (2011).

The band released the 2007 album In Pose peaking at number 40 on Sverigetopplistan, the official Swedish music chart. The band had two charting singles, "Go Girl!" in 2007 and "If I Told You Once" in 2008 peaking at numbers 5 and 16 consecutively on the Swedish charts. Masquerade, Saade's solo debut studio album, was released in May 2010. The album peaked at number 2 on the Swedish Albums Chart, the album includes the singles "Sleepless" and "Break of Dawn". Saade participated in Melodifestivalen 2010 in the 2nd semi-final on 13 February 2010 at the Göransson Arena, Sandviken with the song "Manboy" it achieved third place in the national final on 13 March 2010. Saade Vol. 1, Saade's second studio album, was released in June 2011. The album peaked at number 1 on the Swedish Albums Chart. He represented Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 in Düsseldorf, Germany in the second semi-final on 12 May 2011 with the song "Popular". Qualifying for the Final as one of the top 10 on the night, it was also later revealed that he had won the semi-final with the highest number of points. In the Final, Saade came in third place, making Eric Saade the most successful Swedish act in Eurovision since 1999 when Sweden won. The album also includes the single "Hearts in the Air". Saade Vol. 2, Saade's third studio album, was released in November 2011. The album peaked at number 1 on the Swedish Albums Chart, the album includes the single "Hotter Than Fire". Forgive Me, Saade's fourth studio album, was released in August 2013. The album peaked at number 1 on the Swedish Albums Chart, the album includes the singles "Coming Home", "Boomerang" and "Flashy".

"Sting" is a 2015 song by Swedish singer Eric Saade. He was participating with the song in Melodifestivalen 2015 in a bid to represent Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna, Austria. The song is co-written by Sam Arash Fahmi, Fredrik Kempe, Hamed "K-one" Pirouzpanah and David Kreuger. Saade performed the song live during the first semi-final round of Melodifestivalen on 7 February 2015 in Gothenburg's Scandinavium. Coming first/second that day, he qualified to the Finals held on 14 March 2015 in Stockholm where he came fifth overall after the televoting and jury results was revealed.
