Cesária ÉvoraGCIH was a Cape Verdean singer known for singing morna, a genre of music from Cape Verde, in her native Cape Verdean Creole. Her songs were often devoted to themes of love, homesickness, nostalgia, and the history of the Cape Verdean people. She was known for performing barefoot and for her habit of smoking and drinking on stage during intermissions. Évora's music has received many accolades, including a Grammy Award in 2004, and it has influenced many Cape Verde diaspora musicians as well as American pop singer Madonna. Évora is also known as Cizé, the Barefoot Diva, and the Queen of Morna.

<i>Para Siempre</i> 2007 studio album by Vicente Fernández

Para Siempre is the 79th studio album released by Mexican singer Vicente Fernández on September 18, 2007, by Sony BMG Norte. Written and produced by Joan Sebastian, and co-produced by Jesús Rincón, the album was met with instant success. It has sold two million units worldwide, and is one of the best-selling albums by Fernández. It spawned four hit singles: "Estos Celos", "La Derrota", "Un Millón de Primaveras", and the title track, the latter of which was used as the main theme to the telenovela Fuego En La Sangre, which brought the wider exposure to the album and helped it to stay on charts for over two years. It was named the best-selling Regional Mexican Album of the decade by Billboard magazine.

<i>Viva el Príncipe</i> 2010 studio album by Cristian Castro

Viva el Príncipe is the thirteenth studio album by Mexican recording artist Cristian Castro, released on 30 November 2010 by Universal Music Latino. It is a tribute album to Mexican singer José José, Castro's musical idol. The album was produced by Rafael Pérez-Botija who also produced for José José. Viva el Príncipe covers twelve songs by José José and includes a poem recited by Castro's idol. Recording took place on August 2010 at The Hit Factory Criteria in Miami, Florida.

ChocQuibTown is a Colombian hip-hop group that fuses various musical genres. Although the band formed in Cali, the members are originally from the Colombian department of Chocó. The group consists of Carlos "Tostao" Valencia (rapping), Gloria "Goyo" Martínez, and Miguel "Slow" Martínez. The band's music draws influence from a wide variety of modern genres including hip-hop and more recently electronica, combined with traditional Colombian genres including salsa, Latin jazz, and Afro-Latin rhythms.

"Fruta Fresca" is a vallenato song written and performed by Colombian recording artist Carlos Vives and produced by Emilio Estefan and Juan Vicente Zambrano as the lead single from his studio album El Amor de Mi Tierra (1999). The song incorporates the sound of Latin pop and Colombian vallenato music. In the song, he compares his lover's kisses to fresh fruit. The track was well received by critics who praised the production of the record. "Fruta Fresca" became Vives' first number-one hit on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. It is recognized as one of his signature songs.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">O Tú o Ninguna</span> 1999 single by Luis Miguel

"O Tú o Ninguna" is a song written by Juan Carlos Calderón and produced and performed by Mexican singer Luis Miguel. The song is a bolero in which the protagonist cannot envision his life without anyone else besides his love interest. It was released as the second single from the album Amarte Es un Placer on 6 September 1999. The track topped the US Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart; and reached the top-five in Guatemala, Nicaragua and Panama.
