"Zun Zun Rompiendo Caderas" (English: "Zun Zun Breaking Hips") is a song performed by reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel. The song is taken from their compilation album Los Vaqueros: El Regreso as the first promotional single from the album. It was sent to radio stations on December 6, 2010 and released for digital download on December 7, 2010. [1] [2] The official remix features Tego Calderón and Pitbull. [3] The music video won best Latino artist at 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.

Background

The song is written by themselves and Marco Masís better known as "Tainy", also co-producer of the song. [4] Before to the song was released, the track "Tu Olor" was planned to be the first single, but in the end was changed. [5] Many fans have cited similarities between "Zun Zun Rompiendo Caderas" and their smash hits "Sexy Movimiento" and "Abusadora", due to the song structure and the Electro/Dance sound.

Chart performance

On the week of January 22, 2011 the song debuted at no. 50 on the Billboard Latin Songs, making their 21st entry to the chart, currently at no. 12 and at number 38 on the Latin Tropical Songs, currently at no. 8. [6] [7] On the week of January 29, 2011 the song debuted at number 37 on the Latin Pop Songs chart and has reached no. 11.

Music video

The music video for the song was shot the weekend of December 17–20, 2010. [8] [9] It was directed by Jessy Terrero, [10] a video for the remix version with Pitbull and Tego Calderón, was also filmed the same day in Miami. [11] The music video was premiered on January 27, 2011. [12] The music video for the remix was premiered on March 27, 2011 through their website, it features guest collaborators Pitbull and Tego Calderón. [13] The music video won best Latino artist at 2011 MTV Video Music Awards.

Dangerous is the third studio album by Puerto Rican reggaeton and pop artist Yandel, of the duo Wisin & Yandel, released worldwide on November 6, 2015 through Sony Music Latin. Contrary of his previous studio album, De Líder A Leyenda, Dangerous focuses mainly on reggaeton music, with some synthpop and electropop exceptions. It features reggaeton artists including Nicky Jam, Tego Calderón, Gadiel and De La Ghetto, as well as artists from other genres like Lil Jon, Pitbull, French Montana, Future, Shaggy and Alex Sensation. As of March 2016, the album includes only one single: "Encantadora", released on October, as well as a promotional electropop song titled "Somos Uno", released on September 18, 2015. It reached the top position on Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart, surpassing 5,000 copies sold as of November 12, 2015. The album also reached the 10th position on Billboard's Best Latin Albums of 2015 ranking, being one of the two reggaeton albums that were chosen by the magazine's editors, the other one being The Last Don 2 by Don Omar, who reached the 9th position. Dangerous received a latin platinum certification in October 2016 by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for surpassing 60,000 copies sold in the United States. Its lead single, "Encantadora", was certified with 2× Platinum in Spain by the PROMUSICAE and later with 5× Platinum (Latin) by the RIAA. Dangerous won a Latin American Music Award for Album of the Year on October 6, 2016 and received a nomination for a Lo Nuestro Award for Urban Album of the Year.
