The European Social Democratic Party is a centre-left, populist social-democratic political party in Moldova. Established in 1997, the party holds pro-European views, and is an associate member of the Party of European Socialists (PES) and a full member of the Socialist International. According to its statute, the PSDE pleads that Moldova is an independent, sovereign, and democratic state, based on law, and integrated in the united family of European democracies. Reflecting former leader Marian Lupu's views, but also the strong influence of the Moldovan Orthodox Church, the party is more conservative on social issues, such as LGBT rights.

Until leaving the territory of the Republic of Moldova in 2019, he was considered to be the powerhouse of Moldovan politics in matters of influence, controlling Moldova's government and parliamentary majority. Plahotniuc currently resides in Turkey after fleeing Moldova in June 2019.
Parliamentary elections were held in Moldova on 30 November 2014. The result was described as "more a loss than a victory" of the incumbent pro-European coalition, with center-right parties divided by sharp tensions. The pro-Russian Party of Socialists (PSRM), composed of former communists, emerged as the largest party in Parliament, gaining 20.51% of votes and winning 25 of the 101 seats. Ghenadie Valuța is a Moldovan priest and social activist. He is a member of the Metropolis of Chișinău and All Moldova under the Russian Orthodox Church. An active commentator in the social and mainstream media, he is president of an association called Pro-Ortodoxia. Among other controversies, he has become known for his campaigns against homosexuality and LGBT rights. He attended the pride parades of 2017 and 2018 in Moldova's capital, Chisinau, in order to splash the streets with holy water after the end of the marches.
The 22nd Peacekeeping Battalion is a military unit of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Moldova. The battalion was established on May 11, 1999. The battalion has the task of preparing for peacekeeping operations and humanitarian missions outside of Moldova.
Victor Gaiciuc is a Moldovan military general, who served as Moldovan Minister of Defense from 2001 until 2004, 2019 until 2020 and 2020 until 2021. He was also the National Security Advisor to former president Igor Dodon. He is currently the chairman of the Union of Officers of Moldova and was also the secretary of the Supreme Security Council.
The Government House is a building in Chișinău of the Government of Moldova located on Great National Assembly Square and Stefan cel Mare Avenue. It was designed by Semyon Fridlin in 1964 on Victory Square and along Lenin Avenue. It used to be the headquarters of the Council of Ministers of the Moldovan SSR. The building is a 6-storey reinforced concrete structure, lined with white stone, made in the shape of a letter Russian letter П. Above the main entrance to the building is the inscription "The Government of the Republic of Moldova", as well as the coat of arms of Moldova and the flag of Moldova. In 2010, the Monument to the Victims of the Soviet Occupation was opened right in front of the building.
Margareta Timofti is a Moldovan lawyer who is the wife of Nicolae Timofti, the 4th President of Moldova. With her husband being President, she served as the First Lady of Moldova during his term.
The Day of the Liberation of Moldova from Fascist Occupation is a public holiday celebrated annually in Moldova to commemorates the anniversary of the allied victory in the Second Jassy–Kishinev Offensive during World War II. It is celebrated on 24 August and is also associated with the former Liberation from Fascist Occupation Day and the present day European Day of Remembrance for Victims of Stalinism and Nazism in Romania. It is used to commemorate Moldova's role in the defeat of from Nazi Germany in 1945. It is also recognized by the internationally unrecognized Transnistria.

It has the mission to supervise and defend the airspace of the Republic of Moldova. Both conscripts and contract soldiers serve in the regiment. In addition, 35 women serving in its ranks.
