The Badminton World Federation (BWF) is the international governing body for the sport of badminton recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC). It was founded in 1934 as the International Badminton Federation (IBF) with nine member nations. In 1981 the IBF merged with the World Badminton Federation, and on 24 September 2006, at the Extraordinary General Meeting in Madrid, the name of the organization was changed to Badminton World Federation (BWF).
Liliyana Natsir is an Indonesian former badminton player who specialized in doubles. With one gold and silver from the Olympic Games, and four gold medals at the BWF World Championships.
The BWF World Junior Championships is a tournament organized by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) to crown the best junior badminton players (under-19) in the world. The championships is held annually and consists of two separate competitions: a mixed team championships followed by an individual championships.
Carolina María Marín Martín is a Spanish professional badminton player. She is an Olympic Champion, three-time World Champion, six-time European Champion, and the former World's No. 1 in BWF rankings for the women's singles discipline, holding the World No. 1 title for 66 weeks. Widely regarded as one of the greatest female athletes in women's singles badminton, she holds the distinction of having won a medal in almost every BWF tournament, along with the consecutive golds at the World Championships, and the European Championships.
Vladimir Alexandrovich Ivanov is a Russian badminton player. He was the champion at the 2014 and 2021 European Championships, and also the 2016 All England Open partnering with Ivan Sozonov. They made history by becoming the first Russian pair to win the men's doubles title in each of those events. Ivanov competed at the 2012, 2016, and 2020 Summer Olympics.
Akane Yamaguchi is a Japanese badminton player who is the reigning two-time World Champion, winning gold in the women's singles at the 2021 and 2022 World Championships. She was on the winning Japanese team at the Asian Junior Championships in 2012 and won various women's singles titles afterward. She then won the World Junior Championships in 2013 and 2014, the Asian Junior Championships in 2014, and the Asian Championships in 2019. She helped Japan in winning by the maximum score of 3–0 at the 2017, 2018, and 2020 Asia Team Championships, and to end 37 years for Japan without a title in the Uber Cup in 2018.
Takeshi Kamura is a Japanese badminton player. He was selected to join the national team in 2013 and retired in 2021. Kamura was part of the national team that won the 2014 Thomas Cup. He captured his first Superseries title at the 2016 Hong Kong Open, and reached a career high of world number 2 in the men's doubles partnered with Keigo Sonoda in January 2017.
Keigo Sonoda is a Japanese badminton player. He affiliated with the YKK AP Yatsushiro, before joining the Tonami team in 2010. Sonoda was part of the national team that won the 2014 Thomas Cup. He captured his first Superseries title at the 2016 Hong Kong Open, and reached a career high of world number 2 in the men's doubles partnered with Takeshi Kamura in January 2017.
Koharu Yonemoto is a retired Japanese badminton player who affiliate with Hokuto Bank. She was the women's doubles bronze medalist at the 2018 World Championships, and the silver medalist at the 2013 East Asian Games. She won the year-end tournament Superseries Finals in 2017. Yonemoto was part of Japanese winning team at the 2017 Asia Mixed Team Championships, 2018 Uber Cup, 2018 Asian Games, and at the 2018 Asia Women's Team Championships.
Huang Yaqiong is a Chinese badminton player who specializes in doubles. She won the prestigious All England Open in 2017 partnered with Lu Kai, and in 2019 with Zheng Siwei. Together with Lu, she emerged as the champion at the 2017 Asian Championships. With her current partner Zheng, she won the gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games, and claimed the BWF World Championships titles in 2018, 2019 and 2022. Huang was awarded as the Female Player of the Year by the BWF in 2018 and 2019.
Jia Yifan is a Chinese badminton player. She won gold medals at the 2017, 2021, 2022 World Championships, 2018 Asian Games and at the 2019 Asian Championships.
Li Junhui is a Chinese former badminton player. He was the gold medalist at the 2018 World Championships in the men's doubles event partnered with Liu Yuchen, two times won the gold medal at the Asian Championships in 2017 and 2018, and a silver medalist at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Li was part of the national team that won the 2018 Asian Games, 2018 Thomas Cup and 2019 Sudirman Cup.
The Para-Badminton World Championships is an individual bi-annual event organized by the BWF. The highest ranked para-badminton players compete in six Sport Classes in five categories. The championships was organized under Para Badminton World Federation (PBWF) before it decided to join with BWF in June 2011.
Isabel Lohau is a German badminton player, specializing in doubles play. She started playing badminton at her hometown Hersbruck in 2001, and in 2010 she joined the Germany national badminton team. She along with national team won the 2011 European Junior Championships and 2012 European Women's Team Championships. In the individual event, Lohau also won the bronze medals at the 2010 World Junior Championships in the mixed doubles, 2011 European Junior Championships in the mixed and girls' doubles, and at the 2018 and 2021 European Championships in the mixed doubles. She represented her country competing at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Marvin Emil Seidel is a German badminton player. He was the bronze medalist at the 2013 European Junior Championships in the boys' doubles, and a silver medalist at the 2021 European Championships in the men's doubles event.
Ong Yew Sin is a Malaysian badminton player. He won a bronze medal with Teo Ee Yi at the 2021 BWF World Championships.
Takuro Hoki is a Japanese badminton player affiliated with Tonami team. He was the men's doubles silver medalist at the 2019 World Championships and the men's doubles gold medalist at the 2021 World Championships, being first ever Japanese men's doubles to become world champions.
Mark Lamsfuß is a German badminton player and plays for the BC Wipperfeld. He and his partner, Isabel Lohau won a bronze medal in mixed doubles at the 2022 BWF World Championships.

Pramod Bhagat is an Indian professional Para-badminton player. He is currently ranked world number two in para-badminton men's singles SL3, and won a gold medal at the 2020 Summer Paralympics in Men's singles SL3.
