The Southeastern Conference (SEC) is an American college athletic conference whose member institutions are located primarily in the South Central and Southeastern United States. Its 16 members include the flagship public universities of 12 states, three additional public land-grant universities, and one private research university. The conference is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama. The SEC participates in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I in sports competitions. In football, it is part of the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), formerly known as Division I-A.
The Kentucky Wildcats are the men's and women's intercollegiate athletic squads of the University of Kentucky (UK), a founding member of the Southeastern Conference. The Kentucky Wildcats is the student body of the University of Kentucky. 30,473 students attend the university. Historically, the women's teams and athletes were referred to as the "Lady Kats", but all athletic squads adopted the "Wildcats" nickname in 1995. Collectively, the fans of the Kentucky Wildcats are often referred to as the Big Blue Nation. Their main and most intense rival is the University of Louisville. The Wildcats are composed of 25 varsity teams that compete nationally—23 in NCAA-recognized sports, plus the cheerleading squad and dance team.
Tamaurice Nigel "Tee" Martin is an American football coach and former quarterback who is the quarterbacks coach for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as an assistant coach at the University of Tennessee, University of Southern California, University of Kentucky, University of New Mexico, North Atlanta HS, North Cobb HS, and Morehouse College.

Charles Martin Newton was an American collegiate basketball player, coach, and athletics administrator. He served as the head men's basketball coach at Transylvania University from 1956 to 1968, the University of Alabama from 1968 to 1980, and Vanderbilt University from 1981 to 1989, compiling a career college basketball coaching record of 509–375. He was chairman of the NCAA Rules committee from 1979 to 1985 and was the president of USA Basketball from 1992 to 1996.
The 2013 Florida Gators baseball team represented the University of Florida in the sport of baseball during the 2013 college baseball season. The Gators competed in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the Eastern Division of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). They played their home games at Alfred A. McKethan Stadium, on the university's Gainesville, Florida campus. The team was coached by Kevin O'Sullivan, who was in his sixth season at Florida. The Gators entered the season looking to build upon their appearance in the 2012 College World Series, where they were eliminated after two consecutive losses to South Carolina and Kent State.
The 2013 Southeastern Conference baseball tournament was held from May 21 through 26 at Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in Hoover, Alabama. The annual tournament determined the tournament champion of the Division I Southeastern Conference in college baseball. The tournament champion, LSU, earned the conference's automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.

Jeremy Pruitt is an American football coach who most recently was a senior defensive assistant for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL). He previously served as the head coach at the University of Tennessee from 2018 to 2020 and defensive coordinator at the University of Alabama from 2016 to 2017, University of Georgia from 2014 to 2015, and Florida State University in 2013.
The 2013 Arkansas Razorbacks baseball team represented the University of Arkansas in baseball at the Division I level in the NCAA for the 2013 season. Dave van Horn is the coach and completed his eleventh year at his alma mater. During the season, he won his 1,000th game as a collegiate head coach.
The 2013 South Carolina Gamecocks baseball team represented the University of South Carolina in the 2013 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Gamecocks played their home games in Carolina Stadium. The team was coached by Chad Holbrook, who was in his first season as head coach at Carolina.
The 2013 LSU Tigers baseball team represents Louisiana State University in the NCAA Division I baseball season of 2013. The Tigers played their home games in the new Alex Box Stadium, which opened in 2009. On May 17, 2013, the playing field at Alex Box Stadium was designated Skip Bertman Field, in honor of the LSU coach with the most wins in the program's history. At the end of the game against Ole Miss, the program celebrated the best regular season record in its history with 48 wins.
The 2013 Vanderbilt Commodores baseball team represented Vanderbilt University in the 2013 NCAA Division I baseball season. The team played its home games at Hawkins Field in Nashville, Tennessee. The team was coached by Tim Corbin in his eleventh season at Vanderbilt. The Commodores claimed the conference championship in the Southeastern Conference and set a league record by winning 26 SEC games.
The 2013 Mississippi State Bulldogs baseball team represents Mississippi State University in the 2013 NCAA Division I baseball season. The team is coached by John Cohen, in his 14th year as a collegiate head coach, and his 5th at Mississippi State. The Bulldogs play their home games at Dudy Noble Field, and compete in the Southeastern Conference's West Division.
Amid an otherwise undistinguished decade, the Missouri Tigers baseball team won the Big 12 Conference tournament in 2012. The team moved from the Big 12 Conference to the Eastern division of the Southeastern Conference in 2013. The Tigers struggled the first two seasons after the change of Conference, then improved to a limited extent. As of 2018 their best performance during the decade in a Conference league was in 2015 and their best overall performance was in 2018. Tim Jamieson retired as head coach in 2016 after 22 years, to be replaced by Steve Bieser.
The 2016 Kentucky Wildcats football team represented the University of Kentucky in the 2016 NCAA Division I FBS football season. The season was the program's 123rd overall and 83rd as a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). They were led by fourth-year head coach Mark Stoops and the played home games at Commonwealth Stadium in Lexington, Kentucky. They finished the season 7–6, 4–4 in SEC play to finish in a three-way tie for second place in the Eastern Division. They were invited to the TaxSlayer Bowl where they lost to Georgia Tech.
The 2018 Kentucky Wildcats baseball team represents the University of Kentucky during the 2018 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Wildcats are a member of the Southeastern Conference. They are led by head coach Nick Mingione, who is in his second year at Kentucky. The 2018 season marks the 50th and last season to play their home games at Cliff Hagan Stadium. The Wildcats will open their new stadium on Alumni Drive for the 2019 season.

The 2023–24 Kentucky Wildcats women's basketball team represented the University of Kentucky during the 2023–24 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Wildcats, led by fourth-year head coach Kyra Elzy, played most of their home games at Rupp Arena as Memorial Coliseum underwent extensive renovations this season and compete as members of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). The Wildcats played five games at other venues in and near their home city of Lexington, Kentucky. Four home games, including the season opener, were at the Clive M. Beck Center at Transylvania University in Lexington, and one was at Davis–Reid Alumni Gym at Georgetown College in Georgetown.
