The 2013 UCI Juniors Track World Championships was the 10th annual Junior World Championship for track cycling held at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow, Scotland from 7 to 11 August 2013. [1] [2] [3]

Contents

The Championships offered medals for a range of race disciplines including Keirin, Sprint, Team sprint, Scratch race, Points race, Madison, Individual time trial, Omnium, Individual pursuit and Team pursuit. 250 competitors from 34 countries entered the Championships for the opportunity to be presented with the coveted rainbow jersey on offer for each event.

Dame Laura Rebecca Kenny, Lady Kenny OLY is a British track and road cyclist who specialises in track endurance events, specifically the team pursuit, omnium, scratch race, elimination race and madison disciplines. With six Olympic medals, having won both the team pursuit and the omnium at both the 2012 and 2016 Olympics and madison at the 2020 Olympics, along with a silver medal from the team pursuit at the 2020 Olympics, she is both the most successful female cyclist, and the most successful British female athlete, in Olympic history. Her husband, Sir Jason Kenny, holds the same records on the male side, and together they are the most successful married couple in Olympic history where both spouses have won at least one gold medal . Since first appearing at the European Track Championships in 2010, she has won seven World Championship, 14 European Championship and two Commonwealth Games titles, as part of a total of 34 medals. On the road, Kenny won the British National Road Race Championships in 2014, taking the under-23 title in the same race, but has not competed since 2015.

Annette Edmondson is an Australian former cyclist who competed on the track with Cycling Australia's High Performance Unit (HPU). She also competed on the road for the Wiggle High5 team between 2015 and 2018.

Melissa Hoskins Australian cyclist

Melissa Hoskins is an Australian former track and road racing cyclist. She topped the general classification in the 2012 Tour of Chongming Island. She was a member of the Australian track cycling team pursuit team that finished in fourth place at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Hoskins announced her retirement from professional cycling on 2 May 2017.

2013 UCI Track Cycling World Championships

The 2013 UCI Track Cycling World Championships took place in Minsk, Belarus from 20 to 24 February 2013 in the Minsk-Arena. The Championships featured 19 events, the same as 2012.

Elinor Barker Welsh racing cyclist (born 1994)

Elinor Jane Barker is a Welsh road and track racing cyclist, who last rode professionally on the road for UCI Women's Team Drops. Representing Welsh Cycling and Great Britain in international competitions, Barker is an Olympic, two-time world and six-time European champion in the team pursuit, as well as a two-time world champion in the points race and scratch race. Barker was appointed Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2017 New Year Honours for services to cycling.

Emily Kay British cyclist

After several years representing Great Britain and England at international competitions, Kay transferred allegiance in late 2019, and began representing Ireland on the UCI World Cup Track cycling circuit. She currently rides for UCI Women's Continental Team Torelli–Cayman Islands–Scimitar.
