On 2 November 2014, a suicide bombing took place at Wagah border following the daily border ceremony in Pakistan. The attack was claimed by three rival islamist militant groups.
A crawler crane collapsed over the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, around 5:10 p.m. on 11 September 2015, killing 111 people and injuring 394 others. The city was preparing for the Hajj pilgrimage. The collapse has been cited as the deadliest crane collapse in history, with the previous most deadly incident being the collapse of a construction crane in New York City in 2008, killing seven people.
On 13 March 2016, three Islamist gunmen opened fire at a beach resort in Grand-Bassam, Ivory Coast, killing at least 19 people and injuring 33 others.
On 10 April 2016 at approximately 03:30 AM IST, the Puttingal Temple in Paravur, Kollam, Kerala, India, experienced a fireworks accident after firework celebrations went awry. As a result, 111 people were killed and more than 350 were injured, including some with severe burns. The temple and at least 150 houses in the area of the temple were damaged by the blast. According to local reports and eyewitnesses, the explosion and fire were caused by sparks from a firecracker being used in a competitive fireworks display igniting fireworks in a concrete storehouse. About 15,000 pilgrims were visiting the temple to mark local Hindu celebrations during the last day of a seven-day festival of the goddess Bhadrakali.
On 20 November 2016, the Indore–Patna Express 19321, a scheduled train from Indore to Patna, derailed near Pukhrayan, Kanpur, India, resulting in the death of 150 passengers and injuries to at least another 150.
Two trains collided on the main line in Semnan province between Semnan and Damghan, Iran, on 25 November 2016, resulting in 49 deaths and 103 injuries. There were reported difficulties with the rescue operation due to the incident's remote location 4 km from the nearest station, Haft-Khan, and because only one helicopter could reach the scene immediately to join the rescue operation. It was the deadliest rail disaster in Iran since the Nishapur train disaster in 2004.
On 19 August 2017, the Kalinga Utkal Express train derailed near Khatauli in Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh, India causing fatalities: 23 people were killed and 156 others were injured. This was the fourth major passenger train derailment in 2017 and the third in Uttar Pradesh.
On 23 August 2017, the Kaifiyat Express train derailed between the Pata and Achalda railway stations in Auraiya district of Uttar Pradesh, India, injuring at least 80 people. This was the second train derailment within a week after the Kalinga Utkal Express derailed near Khatauli on 19 August 2017 in the Muzaffarnagar district of Uttar Pradesh.
On 29 September 2017, a stampede occurred at the suburban Elphinstone Road railway station in Mumbai, India. At least 23 people were killed and 39 others injured. The incident took place between the Parel railway station and Elphinstone road railway station.
On 19 October 2018, two Indian Railways passenger trains hit a crowd of people in the eastern outskirts of Amritsar, Punjab, killing at least 62 people and injuring approximately 200 more. The crowd had gathered to watch celebrations for the Hindu festival of Dussehra and were standing on the tracks.
On 1 May 2021, a fire in a hospital in Bharuch, Gujarat, India, killed at least 16 COVID-19 patients and 2 nurses.

On 2 June 2023, three trains collided in Balasore district in the east Indian state of Odisha. The accident occurred around 19:00 IST when Coromandel Express, a passenger train, collided with a stationary goods train near Bahanaga Bazar railway station on the Howrah–Chennai main line. Due to the high speed of the passenger train and the heavy tonnage of the goods train, the impact resulted in 21 coaches of the Coromandel Express derailing and three of those collided with the oncoming SMVT Bengaluru–Howrah Superfast Express on the adjacent track.
On January 3, 2024, an accident in Golaghat district, Assam, India involving a bus occurred when the vehicle collided with a truck killing 12 and injuring 30.
The 2025 Jalgaon train accident was a train accident in Pachora, Jalgaon district in Maharashtra, India on the Maheji Railway Station near the line between Pachora Junction-Jalgaon Junction on 22 January 2025. The incident occurred when panicked passengers jumped off the train after hearing rumour that the Pushpak Express on fire; they were subsequently hit by the Bengaluru Express coming from the opposite direction.
