The top four regular season finishers of the league's five teams met in the double-elimination tournament held at Sioux Falls Stadium in Sioux Falls, South Dakota hosted by South Dakota State. North Dakota State won its first tournament championship to earn The Summit League's automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division I baseball tournament. [2] [3] [4]

Seeding

The top four finishers from the regular season were seeded one through four based on conference winning percentage. The teams then played a double elimination tournament. Nebraska–Omaha was ineligible as it transitioned to Division I.

The 2008 NCAA Division I baseball season play of college baseball in the United States, organized by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) at the Division I level, began on February 22, 2008. The season was the first to have a uniform start date for both southern and northern teams. The change from previous seasons, in which weather allowed southern teams to begin play weeks before northern teams, was an attempt to improve parity between warm-weather and cold-weather teams. The season progressed through the regular season, many conference tournaments and championship series, and concluded with the 2008 NCAA Division I baseball tournament and 2008 College World Series. The College World Series, which consisted of the eight remaining teams in the NCAA tournament, was held in its annual location of Omaha, Nebraska, at Rosenblatt Stadium. It concluded on June 25, 2008, with the final game of the best of three championship series. Fresno State defeated Georgia two games to one to claim their first championship. Fresno State was the first team seeded fourth in its regional tournament to win a national championship since the NCAA tournament adopted the current 64-team format in 1999.

Its home venue is Newman Outdoor Field, located on North Dakota State's campus. Tyler Oakes is the team's head coach in his second season. The program has appeared in 2 NCAA tournaments. The 2012 Summit League baseball tournament took place from May 24 through 26. The top four regular season finishers of the league's seven teams met in the double-elimination tournament held at Oral Roberts University's J. L. Johnson Stadium. Oral Roberts won their fifteenth consecutive championship, claiming the tournament title every year but one of the sixteen seasons that they have been in the league, and will represent The Summit League in the 2012 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.

The 2011 Great West Conference baseball tournament took place from May 24 through 28. All eight of the league's teams met in the double-elimination tournament to be held at University of North Dakota's Harold Kraft Memorial Field in Grand Forks, ND. Utah Valley won their second championship by a score of 10-6. As the Great West is a new conference, the league does not have an automatic bid to the 2011 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.

The 2013 Summit League baseball tournament took place from May 23 through 26. The top four regular season finishers of the league's five eligible teams met in the double-elimination tournament held at Oakland University Baseball Field in Rochester, Michigan. Nebraska–Omaha was not eligible. South Dakota State claimed their first tournament championship and earned the Summit League's automatic bid to the 2013 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.

The 2015 Summit League baseball tournament took place from May 20 through 23. The top four regular season finishers of the league's six teams met in the double-elimination tournament held at Sioux Falls Stadium in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Oral Roberts won the tournament and earned the Summit League's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.

Craig Francis Smith is an American college basketball coach who is the head coach for the Utah Utes men's team of the Pac-12 Conference. He served as an assistant for Tim Miles at four schools – Mayville State, North Dakota State, Colorado State, and Nebraska. Smith was also the head coach at Mayville State from 2004 to 2007, at South Dakota from 2014 to 2018, and at Utah State from 2018 to 2021.

Tod Markey Brown is an American baseball coach and former pitcher, currently serving as head baseball coach of the New Mexico Lobos. He played college baseball for Arizona for four seasons, helping the team to the 1992 Pac-10 Conference championship and falling just shy of the 1993 College World Series. He then served as the head coach of the North Dakota State Bison (2008–2021).

Johnson Stadium on the campus of Oral Roberts in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The winner of the tournament will earn the Summit League's automatic bid to the 2017 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.

The 2021–22 Summit League Conference men's basketball season started non-conference play on November 9, 2021, and began conference play on December 20, 2021. The regular season ended on February 26, 2022, setting up the 2022 Summit League men's basketball tournament from March 5 to March 8.
South Dakota State was the regular season champion, finishing with a perfect 18-0 conference record for the first time in conference and team history. The Jacks would go on to win the Summit League tournament as well, beating North Dakota State to reach their first NCAA tournament berth in four years.

The 2022 Summit League softball tournament took place from May 12–15, 2022. It was initially scheduled to begin on May 11 but was postponed due to severe weather. The top six regular-season finishers of the league's eight teams met in the double-elimination tournament at Jackrabbit Softball Stadium on the campus of South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota. The winner of the tournament, South Dakota State, earned the Summit League's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Division I softball tournament. After weather delays and power outages on South Dakota State's campus on May 13, the remaining games in the tournament were moved to Nygaard Field on the campus of the University of South Dakota in Vermillion, South Dakota.

The 2021 Summit League softball tournament took place from May 12-15, 2022. The top six regular-season finishers of the league's seven teams met in the double-elimination tournament at Tharaldson Park on the campus of North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota.
North Dakota State were the defending champions, since the 2020 season was cancelled midway through due to the COVID-19 pandemic. South Dakota State won the tournament after beating Omaha in the final game. This was the Jacks' first Summit League title, and earned the league's automatic berth to the 2021 NCAA Division I softball tournament.

The 2019 Summit League softball tournament took place from May 8–11, 2019. The top six regular-season finishers of the league's seven teams met in the double-elimination tournament at the Ellig Sports Complex on the campus of North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota.
North Dakota State was the defending champion, and successfully defended their title following their defeat of second-seeded South Dakota in the final round. This was the tenth Summit League title for the Bison, who earned the Summit League's automatic berth to the 2019 NCAA Division I softball tournament with the tournament title.

The 2023 Summit League baseball tournament took place from May 24 through 27, 2023. The top four out of seven teams in the conference's regular season will meet in the double-elimination tournament held at Newman Outdoor Field on the campus of North Dakota State University in Fargo, North Dakota. The defending champion was Oral Roberts, who successfully defended their title and earned the Summit League's automatic bid to the 2023 NCAA Division I baseball tournament.
