The America East Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I founded in 1979, whose members are located in the Northeastern United States.
The America East Men's Basketball Tournament is the annual concluding tournament for the NCAA college basketball in the America East Conference. The winner of the annual tournament gains an automatic bid to the NCAA Men's Division I Basketball Championship.
The Albany Great Danes men's basketball team is the basketball team that represent the University at Albany, State University of New York in Albany, New York. The school's team currently competes in the America East Conference and plays its home games at SEFCU Arena. The team played in the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Tournament in 2006, 2007, 2013, and 2014, 2015. They also made the CIT in 2016 and 2017, and are currently coached by Dwayne Killings.
The Stony Brook Seawolves are the athletic teams of Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York, United States. The school competes at the Division I level of the National Collegiate Athletic Association and participates in the America East Conference for all sports except football, in which they participate as an associate member of the Colonial Athletic Association, and women's tennis, which competes as an associate member of the Missouri Valley Conference. Stony Brook will join the Colonial Athletic Association as a member in all sports on July 1, 2022. The official colors of the Seawolves are red, grey, and blue.
Stephen Christopher Pikiell is an American college basketball coach and, since March 16th, 2016, the head men's basketball coach at Rutgers. Prior to Rutgers, Pikiell was the head coach at Stony Brook for over a decade, leading the Seawolves to their first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2016.
The Albany Great Danes are the NCAA Division I intercollegiate athletic programs of the University at Albany, SUNY, located in Albany, New York, United States. A member of the America East Conference, the University at Albany, SUNY sponsors teams in eight men's and ten women's NCAA sanctioned sports. The football team is an associate member of the Colonial Athletic Association, and the women's golf team is an associate member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

Stony Brook currently competes in the America East Conference and plays its home games on Joe Nathan Field. Matt Senk has coached the team since the beginning of the 1991 season. The team has won the America East tournament six times in 2004, 2008, 2010, 2012, 2015, and 2019. In 2011, the Seawolves claimed their first America East regular season championship. Stony Brook has participated in the NCAA Tournament on six separate occasions, winning its first game in 2010.

Stony Brook won their fourth America East Championship, defeating Maine 13-6 in the championship game, and earned the conference's automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament.
The 2012 NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse Championship was the thirty-first annual single-elimination tournament to determine the national championship for National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I women's college lacrosse. The tournament began with first-round play on May 12, and concluded with the championship game played at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium of Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York, on May 27, 2012. The Northwestern Wildcats were the 2012 NCAA Tournament champions.

The Seawolves were coached by 22nd-year head coach Matt Senk and played their home games at Joe Nathan Field. The Seawolves clinched their second consecutive regular season championship and their fourth America East Conference Baseball Tournament championship, earning the league's automatic bid to the 2012 NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament, their fourth appearance in school history.

The 2014 America East Men's Lacrosse Tournament was the 15th edition of the America East Conference Men's Lacrosse Tournament and took place from May 1 to May 3 that year at Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium in Stony Brook, New York. The winner of the tournament received the America East Conference's automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship. Four teams from the America East conference will compete in the single elimination tournament. The seeds were based upon the teams' regular season conference record.

The 2015–16 Stony Brook Seawolves men's basketball team represented Stony Brook University in the 2015–16 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The Seawolves were led by the eleventh-year head coach Steve Pikiell and played their home games at Island Federal Credit Union Arena. They were members of the America East Conference. They finished the season 26–7, 14–2 in America East play to win the regular-season championship. They defeated UMBC, Hartford, and Vermont to become champions of the America East Tournament and earn the conference's automatic bid goes the NCAA Tournament, their first in school history. As a #13 seed, the Seawolves fell to Kentucky in the first round.

They play their home games at the Island Federal Credit Union Arena in Stony Brook, New York and are led by first-year head coach Ashley Langford, who took over the position after Caroline McCombs left to become the head coach for George Washington. They are members of the America East Conference.
The 2022 America East Conference Softball tournament will be held at University Field on the campus of Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York from May 25 through May 28, 2022. The tournament will earn the America East Conference's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament.
