The Texas State Bobcats are the sports teams that represent Texas State University. Currently, they compete in the Sun Belt Conference in NCAA Division I. The Bobcat has been the mascot of Texas State University since 1921, when the university adopted the name from the recommendation of a committee formed to raise school spirit. Though considerably smaller than mountain lions, bobcats are known for their stubborn fierceness and great courage. The football squad used the bobcat for the first time in 1921 and went undefeated with a 7–0 season. Texas State had several officially recognized live bobcat mascots until the 1970s. In 1964, the Texas State Bobcat was given the official name of "Boko" by Beth Greenlees, a sophomore from Luling, Texas, who beat out about 100 other students in a "Name the Bobcat" contest. Her winning submission earned her a $5 prize and the honor of being the person who named the Texas State mascot. Boko has twice been named “USA National Champion” mascot. Texas State had no official fight song until 1961, when Paul Yoder was commissioned to compose "Go Bobcats." The song is the rousing "call to arms" for all Texas State athletic games and competition.
The Sun Belt Conference Baseball Tournament is the conference championship tournament in baseball for the Sun Belt Conference. The winner of the tournament receives the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division I Baseball Tournament. After Coastal Carolina University hosts the competition in Conway, South Carolina in 2019, the tournament will move to a neutral site, Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery, AL, from 2020 to 2024.
The 2013 Sun Belt Conference football season was the 13th college football season for the Sun Belt Conference. During the 2013 season, Sun Belt football consisted of eight members: Arkansas State, Georgia State, Louisiana–Lafayette, Louisiana–Monroe, South Alabama, Texas State, Troy, and WKU.
The 2016 Sun Belt Conference Softball tournament was held at the Bobcat Softball Complex on the campus of the Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas from May 6 through May 9, 2015. The tournament winner earned the Sun Belt Conference's automatic bid to the 2016 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament. Day one of the tournament acted as a single elimination tournament, while Day 2 begins a double elimination format among the remaining 4 teams. The championship game was winner takes all. Days 1 & 2 of the tournament were streamed via sunbeltsports.org. Days 3 and 4 of the tournament were televised on ESPN3.
Alexandrea "Lexie" Kenedie Elkins is an American softball coach, she served as the assistant coach at Houston. She is also a former collegiate All-American, retired softball catcher. She began her college softball career at Texas Tech in 2013 before transferring to the Louisiana for the 2014–16 seasons, where she set numerous school records. She is the Sun Belt Conference career leader in batting average and slugging percentage in only three seasons. She is also one of nine NCAA Division I players to hit a career .400 with 200 RBIs, 50 home runs and an .800% slugging percentage for a career.
The 2018 Sun Belt Conference Men's Soccer Tournament was the 24th edition of the Sun Belt Conference Men's Soccer Tournament. The tournament will decide the Sun Belt Conference champion. The tournament will be begin on November 7 and conclude on November 11.
The 2018 Sun Belt Conference Women's Soccer Tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Sun Belt Conference held from October 31 to November 4, 2018. The seven-match tournament took place at the Foley Sports Complex in Foley, Alabama. The eight-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The defending champions were the South Alabama Jaguars, however they were unable to defend their title, losing in a penalty kick shootout to the Texas State Bobcats in the semifinals. The Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans won the title in another penalty kick shootout over Texas State. This was the first Sun Belt women's soccer tournament title for Little Rock and the first for head coach Mark Foster.

The seven-match tournament took place at the Foley Sports Complex in Foley, Alabama. The eight-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The defending champions were the Arkansas-Little Rock Trojans, however they were unable to defend their title after finishing ninth in regular season play and failing to qualify for the tournament. The South Alabama Jaguars won the title with a 5–1 win over Arkansas State in the final. This was the sixth Sun Belt women's soccer tournament title for the South Alabama women's soccer program and the second for head coach Richard Moodie.

The regular season began on September 18 and concluded on November 6, 2020. The season culminated with the Sun Belt Tournament which began on November 13 and concluded on November 15, 2020.

The tournament was contested over four days between November 2–8 at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex in Foley, Alabama. The South Alabama Jaguars successfully defended their title, defeating Arkansas State in the final, 2–1, to win their seventh Sun Belt tournament championship in the last eight years.

Eight of the last nine Sun Belt Women's Soccer Tournaments have been won by South Alabama. As tournament champions, South Alabama earned the Sun Belt's automatic berth into the 2021 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament.
The 2022 Sun Belt Conference Men's Basketball Tournament was the postseason men's basketball tournament for Sun Belt Conference during the 2021–22 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. All tournament games were played at Pensacola Bay Center in Florida during March 3–7, 2022. The winner, Georgia State, received the conference's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Tournament.
