The 2015 Big South Conference Softball tournament was held at Amanda Littlejohn Stadium in Buies Creek, North Carolina from May 7 through May 10, 2015. [1] The tournament winner, Longwood, earned the Big South Conference's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament, where they defeated Virginia Tech but were eliminated by Tennessee and Utah.

Buies Creek, North Carolina Census-designated place in North Carolina, United States

Buies Creek is a census-designated place (CDP) located in the Neills Creek Township of Harnett County, North Carolina, United States. It is the home of Campbell University. The population was 2,942 at the 2010 census, up from 2,215 in 2000. Buies Creek is a part of the Dunn Micropolitan Area, which is also a part of the greater Raleigh–Durham–Cary Combined Statistical Area (CSA) as defined by the United States Census Bureau.

The Longwood Lancers softball team is the college softball team which represents Longwood University in Farmville, Virginia. The school's team currently competes in the Big South Conference, having done so since the 2013 season. They have been led since 1998 by Kathy Riley.

The 2015 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament was held from May 14 through June 3, 2015 as the final part of the 2015 NCAA Division I softball season. The 64 NCAA Division I college softball teams were selected out of an eligible 293 teams on May 10, 2015. Thirty-two teams were awarded an automatic bid as champions of their conference, and thirty-two teams were selected at-large by the NCAA Division I softball selection committee. The tournament culminated with eight teams playing in the 2015 Women's College World Series at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.

Format

The Big South has two single elimination games. An 8 vs. 9 play-in game is held as single elimination. The championship is also single elimination. All other games are double elimination.

Sierra Romero American softball player

Sierra Joy Romero is a Mexican-American, former collegiate 4-time All-American, pro All-Star right-handed hitting softball player originally from Murrieta, California. She is currently a volunteer assistant coach for the Oregon Ducks softball team. She was a shortstop and second baseman for the Michigan Wolverines softball team from 2013-2016, where she set numerous records. She holds the Big Ten career Triple Crown, along with the slugging percentage record, simultaneously leading all of the NCAA in runs scored and grand slams. Finally, she is one of nine NCAA players to hit .400 with 200 RBIs, 50 home runs and an .800 slugging percentage for her career and was named the #5 Greatest College Softball Player.

The 2014 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament was held from May 15 through June 5, 2014 as the final part of the 2014 NCAA Division I softball season. The 64 NCAA Division I college softball teams were selected out of an eligible 293 teams on May 11, 2014. 32 teams were awarded an automatic bid as champions of their conference, and 32 teams were selected at-large by the NCAA Division I Softball Selection Committee. The tournament culminated with 8 teams playing in the 2014 Women's College World Series at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.


The 2015 SEC Softball tournament will be held at Tiger Park on the campus of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana from May 6 through May 9, 2015. The tournament will earn the Southeastern Conference's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament. The Championship game will be broadcast on ESPN2 and the semifinals will be broadcast on ESPNU, while all other SEC tournament games will be live on the SEC Network.

The 2015 Sun Belt Conference Softball tournament will be held at the Bobcat Softball Complex on the campus of the Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas from May 6 through May 9, 2015. The tournament winner will earn the Sun Belt Conference's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament. Day one of the tournament acts as a single elimination tournament, while Day 2 begins a double elimination format among the remaining 4 teams. The championship game will be winner takes all. Days 1 & 2 of the tournament will be streamed via sunbeltsports.org. Days 3 and 4 of the tournament will be televised on ESPN3.

The 2015 Atlantic 10 Conference Softball tournament will be held at Sortino Field on the campus of the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Massachusetts from May 6 through May 9, 2015. The tournament winner will earn the Atlantic 10 Conference's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament. All games will be streamed online on the A-10 Network.

The 2015 Southern Conference softball tournament was held at Jim Frost Stadium on the campus of Chattanooga University in Chattanooga, Tennessee from May 6 through May 9, 2015. Chattanooga won their eight tournament championship and earned the SoCon's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament. The Championship game was broadcast on ESPN3 while all other games weree broadcast on the SoCon Digital Network.

The 2015 Big East Conference softball tournament will be held at The Ballpark at Rosemont in Rosemont, Illinois. The tournament, hosted by DePaul University, runs May 8 through May 9, 2015. The 2015 Horizon League softball tournament was held at Oakland Softball Stadium on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester Hills, Michigan from May 6 through May 9, 2015. The tournament winner earned the Horizon League's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament. All games were broadcast on ESPN3.

The 2015 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Softball tournament will be held at Firestone Stadium in Akron, Ohio, home of Akron University, from May 6 through May 9, 2015. The tournament winner will earn the Mid-American Conference's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament. All games will be streamed via mac-sports.com.

The 2015 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Softball tournament will be held at Ormond Beach Sports Complex in Ormond Beach, Florida from May 7 through May 9, 2015. The tournament winner will earn the MEAC's automatic bid to the 2015 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament. Stats will be available for all games, but no games will be streamed or televised.

The Atlantic Coast Conference Softball Tournament is the conference championship tournament in college softball for the Atlantic Coast Conference. 2017 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament

The 2017 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament is being held from May 18 through June 7, 2017 as the final part of the 2017 NCAA Division I softball season. The 64 participating NCAA Division I college softball teams were selected out of an eligible 293 teams on May 14, 2017. Thirty-two teams were awarded automatic bids as champions of their conferences, and the remaining 32 were selected at-large by the NCAA Division I softball selection committee. The tournament culminates with eight teams playing in the 2017 Women's College World Series at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City. Oklahoma would repeat as National Champions, defeating Florida in 2 games.

The 2018 NCAA Division I Softball Tournament is being held from May 18 through June 6, 2018 as the final part of the 2018 NCAA Division I softball season. Thirty-two teams were awarded automatic bids as champions of their conferences, and the remaining 32 were selected at-large by the NCAA Division I softball selection committee. The tournament culminates with eight teams playing in the 2018 Women's College World Series at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City. This is the first year since the 2010 Women's College World Series that neither the Florida Gators nor the Oklahoma Sooners made the Championship Series. The Florida State Seminoles will play in their first Women's College World Series Championship Series and became the first ACC team to make the Championship Series. The Washington Huskies are making their 4th Appearance in the Championship Series.
