Western Australian soccer clubs competed in 2015 for the Football West State Cup , known for sponsorship reasons as the Cool Ridge Cup. Clubs entered from the National Premier Leagues WA, the two divisions of the State League, a limited number of teams from various divisions of the 2015 Amateur League competition, and from regional teams invited from the South West, Goldfields, Great Southern and Midwest regions. [1] [2] This knockout competition was won by Sorrento FC, their third title.
The competition also served as the Western Australian Preliminary Rounds for the 2015 FFA Cup. The two finalists – Perth SC and Sorrento FC – qualified for the final rounds, entering at the Round of 32.
A total of 61 teams took part in the competition, from Perth-based and regional-based competitions.

The National Premier Leagues Western Australia is a regional Australian semi-professional soccer league comprising teams from Western Australia. The league name is often abbreviated to NPL Western Australia or NPL WA. As a subdivision of the National Premier Leagues, the league is the highest level of the Western Australian league system. The competition is administered by Football West, the governing body of the sport in the state. In 2014, the league – formerly known as the Football West State League Premier Division – was rebranded into what exists today.
The 2014 FFA Cup was the inaugural season of the FFA Cup, the main national soccer knockout cup competition in Australia. 631 teams in total from around Australia entered the competition. Only 32 teams competed in the competition proper, including the 10 A-League teams and 22 Football Federation Australia (FFA) member federation teams determined through individual state preliminary rounds held in early 2014. The FFA Cup competition proper commenced on 29 July 2014 and concluded with the FFA Cup Final on 16 December 2014. which was brought forward from Australia Day in order to avoid a clash with the 2015 Asian Cup, which was hosted by Australia.

The 2022 Football West season is the ninth season since the establishment of the National Premier Leagues in Western Australia.
