Western Australian soccer clubs competed in 2018 for the Football West State Cup , known as the Belt Up Cup for sponsorship reasons. Clubs entered from the National Premier Leagues WA, the two divisions of the State League, a limited number of teams from various divisions of the 2018 Amateur League competition, and from regional teams from the South West, Goldfields and Great Southern regions.
This knockout competition was won by Armadale, their 1st title.
The competition also served as the Western Australian Preliminary Rounds for the 2018 FFA Cup. The two finalists – Armadale SC and Gwelup Croatia – qualified for the final rounds, entering at the Round of 32.

The round numbers conform to a common format throughout the 2018 FFA Cup preliminary rounds. A total of 32 teams took part in this stage of the competition, from lower divisions of the Amateur League, and from regional teams entering from the South West, Great Southern and Goldfields regions. Matches in this round were played between 11–18 March. For matches where the scores were equal at full-time, they went straight to penalties. [1]

Gwelup Croatia is an Australian semi-professional soccer club based in Gwelup in Perth, Western Australia, founded in 1988. Gwelup Croatia currently competes in the NPL Western Australia, with matches played at the Croatian Sporting Complex in Gwelup. They also compete in the Metropolitan League, Masters League, Ladies League, and in Juniors teams. The club regularly competes in the Australian-Croatian Soccer Tournament.

Armadale currently competes in the National Premier Leagues Western Australia, with matches played at Alfred Skeet Oval. The club provides grass roots to professional training, in a fun, social environment for males & females of all age groups. ASC prides itself on providing and enjoyable and supportive football environment for players of all ages and skill levels. Our club squads range from juniors all the way up to seniors including Social, Veterans, Ladies and NPL. Juniors are located at Morgan Park, Armadale and Seniors are located at Alfred Skeet Reserve, Forrestdale.

Clubs entered from the newly formed National Premier Leagues WA, the two divisions of the State League, as well as a limited number of teams from various divisions of the 2014 Sunday League competition. This knockout competition was won by Bayswater City, their second title.
The 2015 FFA Cup preliminary rounds were a qualifying competition to decide 21 of the 32 teams which will take part in the 2015 FFA Cup Round of 32, along with the 10 A-League clubs and reigning National Premier Leagues champion. The preliminary rounds operated within a consistent national structure whereby club entry into the competition was staggered in each state/territory, with the winning clubs from Round 7 of the preliminary rounds in each member federation gaining direct entry into the Round of 32. All Australian clubs were eligible to enter the qualifying process through their respective FFA member federation, however only one team per club was permitted entry in the competition. Teams from the Northern Territory competed in this competition for the first time.
The 2015 Football West season was the second season under the new competition format in Western Australia. The overall premier for the new structure qualified for the National Premier Leagues finals series, competing with the other state federation champions in a final knockout tournament to decide the National Premier Leagues Champion for 2015.
