The 2016 FIBA Europe 3x3 Championships was the second edition of the European 3x3 basketball event that featured separate competitions for men's and women's national teams. The tournament started on 25 June 2016 with the first of the three qualifying tournaments and its final tournament was played in the AFI Cotroceni shopping mall in Bucharest, Romania between 2 and 4 September 2016. Contents

In the men's tournament, Slovenia won their first European championship title by beating Serbia in the final. Hungary also won their first European championship title in the women's tournament, by beating Romania in the final. [2]

Qualification

The qualification events took place in the Summer of 2016. A total of 26 teams took part in these tournaments, with 12 teams of each gender qualifying for the final championship.

Men

Qualifier 1

The first qualifying tournament took place in Escaldes-Engordany, Andorra from 25 to 26 June 2016. [3] The four best teams qualified for the European Championship.

Final tournament

The second edition of the FIBA 3x3 European Championships was held in Bucharest from 2-4 September 2016. A total of 12 teams of each gender qualified for the championship through one of three qualifying tournaments. [1] [4] [5] [6] [7]

Pools were announced on 4 August 2016. [8]

Slovenia in the men's tournament and Hungary in the women's tournament both won their first championship in this competition by beating Serbia and Romania in the final, respectively. [2]

The 2017 European Women Basketball Championship, commonly called EuroBasket Women 2017, was the 36th edition of the continental tournament in women's basketball, sanctioned by the FIBA Europe. The 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cupqualification for the FIBA Europe region, began in August 2017 and concluded in February 2019. Contrary to previous years, no teams were automatically placed into the World Cup, so all FIBA Europe nations had to participate in qualification.

The Men's Tournament of the 2017 FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup took place at the Museumplein in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Twelve teams participated in the men's tournament.

The Women's Tournament of the 2017 FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup took place at the Museumplein in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Twelve teams participated in the women's tournament.

The qualification of the 2017 FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup took place in June 2017. Twenty-four teams from 16 countries took part in these tournaments, with 12 teams of each gender qualifying for the final championship.

The men's tournament of the 2018 FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup hosted in Bucharest, Romania, was contested by 12 teams.
Four-time 3x3 World Champions Serbia won its first ever European 3x3 championship after dethroning defending European 3x3 Champions, Latvia, 19–18 in the final.

The 2020 FIBA Men's Olympic Qualifying Tournaments were the four basketball tournaments that were contested by 23 national teams, where the top teams earned a place in the 2020 Summer Olympics basketball tournament. They were originally scheduled to take place from 23 to 28 June 2020 but were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, to 29 June to 4 July 2021.

The 2021 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament was initially scheduled to be held in Bangalore, India from 18 to 22 March 2020. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the tournament was moved to Graz, Austria and was held from 26 to 30 May 2021. The games accommodated a temporary makeshift 2,000-seat capacity at the Hauptplatz.

The EuroBasket Women 2023 qualification was held from November 2021 to February 2023 to decide the 14 teams to join the co-hosts Israel and Slovenia. It featured 38 teams split in ten groups of three or four teams. The ten group winners and the four best second-ranked teams qualified for the final tournament.

The 2021 FIBA 3x3 Europe Cup was the sixth edition of the European 3x3 basketball event that featured separate competitions for men's and women's national teams. It was held between 10 and 12 September 2021 in Paris, France.

The qualification events took place in 25-26 June in Tel Aviv, Israel and 26-27 June in Constanta, Romania, respectively. Twelve men's teams and 12 women's team qualified for the final tournament. In the men's, host France, 2019 champs Serbia, Russia and Slovenia have qualified based on ranking. In the women's, host and 2019 champs France, Russia, Netherlands and Romania are automatically through. In each qualifying tournament, four men's teams and four women's teams earned spots for the final event.
