The 2016 FIM CEV Moto3 Junior World Championship was the fifth CEV Moto3 season and the third under the FIM banner. The season was held over 12 races at 8 meetings, beginning on 17 April at Valencia and finishing on 20 November at the same venue.

Luis Jaime Salom Horrach was a Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle racer. Salom died after a practice accident at Circuit de Catalunya, when making contact with his bike and the wall after a high-speed accident. Racing in the Moto2 class since 2014, he finished 41 races, with 3 podium appearances, including a second-place finish at the 2016 Qatar season opener. At the time of his death, Salom ranked 10th in the 2016 Moto2 Championship point standings. Previously he had competed in Moto3, accumulating nine race victories, finishing 2nd and 3rd in the 2012 and 2013 championships, respectively.
Álex Rins Navarro is a Spanish Grand Prix motorcycle racer for the Team Suzuki Ecstar in MotoGP class.
Ana Carrasco Gabarrón is a Spanish motorcycle racer, who won the 2018 Supersport 300 World Championship riding a Kawasaki Ninja 400 with the David Salom Junior Team, becoming the first woman in history to win a World Championship in solo motorcycle road racing.
The 2014 FIM CEV Moto3 International Championship was the third CEV Moto3 season and the first under the FIM banner. Fabio Quartararo successfully defended his championship by winning nine out of the eleven races. By winning the championship, he secured himself a ride in Moto3 for 2015 – despite being under the minimum age limit – following a rule change in August 2014. Other race winners were María Herrera at Jerez, and series runner up Jorge Navarro at Albacete; Quartararo finished second in both races. Hiroki Ono finished the season in third place with four podiums.

Nicolò Jarod Bulega is an Italian motorcycle racer. Bulega has also been a competitor in the CEV Moto3 Championship in 2014 and 2015, becoming Moto3 Junior World Champion in 2015. Prior to competing in the CEV, Bulega won the Italian and European MiniGP 50 championships, and was Italian champion in the PreGP 125 and PreGP 250 classes.

Remy Christopher Gardner is an Australian motorcycle racer, best known for winning the 2021 Moto2 World Championship with Red Bull KTM Ajo. He is the son of Wayne Gardner, 1987 premier class world champion. For 2022 he is set to ride for the Tech3 KTM team in MotoGP.
