The 2017 Teng Tools Swedish FIM Speedway Grand Prix was the seventh race of the 2017 Speedway Grand Prix season. It took place on August 12 at the G&B Stadium in Målilla, Sweden. [1]

The 2017 Speedway Grand Prix season was the 23rd season of the Speedway Grand Prix era, and decided the 72nd FIM Speedway World Championship. It was seventeenth series under the promotion of Benfield Sports International, an IMG company.

Målilla Place in Småland, Sweden

Målilla is a locality situated in Hultsfred Municipality, Kalmar County, Sweden with 1,524 inhabitants in 2010.

Riders

First reserve Peter Kildemand replaced Nicki Pedersen and second reserve Martin Smolinski replaced Greg Hancock. The Speedway Grand Prix Commission also nominated Linus Sundström as the wild card, and Kim Nilsson and Joel Kling both as Track Reserves.

Peter Kildemand Danish speedway rider

Peter Kildemand is a Danish motorcycle speedway rider who is a member of Denmark U-21 national teams. He was a member of the Swindon Robins Elite League Championship winning side of 2012 and was named "Rider of the Year" for the club at the end of the season.

Nicki Pedersen is a Danish motorcycle speedway rider. He has won the World Championship in 2003, 2007 and 2008 and was a World Cup winner with Denmark in 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2014. His brother, Ronni Pedersen, has also ridden in the Speedway Grand Prix and World Cup.

Martin Smolinski is a German international motorcycle speedway and Grasstrack rider who has represented the German speedway team at senior level. He is the current World Long Track champion and European Grasstrack champion.

Results

The Grand Prix was won by Poland's Bartosz Zmarzlik, who beat Antonio Lindbäck, Fredrik Lindgren and Maciej Janowski in the final. [2] Lindbäck and Lindgren had top scored during the qualifying heats and then won each of the semi-finals, however the former was passed by Zmarzlik on the final bend of the decider. Janowkski took the lead in the overall standings after finishing fourth, while title rivals Jason Doyle and Patryk Dudek both failed to make the semi-finals.

Antonio Lindbäck is an international motorcycle speedway rider who currently competes in the Speedway World Championship, finishing eighth in 2016, and was a member of the Swedish team who won the Speedway World Cup in 2004 and 2015.

Fredrik Lindgren (speedway rider) Swedish speedway rider

Jan Fredrik Tobias (Freddie) Lindgren is a Swedish motorcycle speedway rider who rides in the UK for the Wolverhampton Wolves in the Elite League. As of the 2008 season, Freddie was awarded with the captaincy role, previously held by fellow Swede Peter Karlsson.
