Group 4 of the 2017 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying competition consisted of six teams: Portugal, Israel, Greece, Hungary, Albania, and Liechtenstein. The composition of the nine groups in the qualifying group stage was decided by the draw held on 5 February 2015. [1]

Contents

The group was played in home-and-away round-robin format. The group winners qualified directly for the final tournament, while the runners-up advanced to the play-offs if they were one of the four best runners-up among all nine groups (not counting results against the sixth-placed team). [2]

  4. If, after having applied criteria 1. to 3., two teams still have an equal ranking, criteria 1. to 3. will be reapplied to determine the ranking of the two teams. If this procedure does not lead to a decision, criteria 5. and 6. will apply.
  5. Results of all group matches:
    1. Superior goal difference.
    2. Higher number of goals scored.
  6. Drawing of lots.

The teams competing in Group 5 of the 2015 UEFA European Under-21 Championships qualifying competition were Switzerland, Ukraine, Croatia, Latvia and Liechtenstein.
