The 2018 AFF U-19 Youth Championship was the 16th edition of the AFF U-19 Youth Championship, organised by ASEAN Football Federation. It was hosted by Indonesia during July 2018. Eleven out of the twelve member associations of the ASEAN Football Federation took part in the tournament featuring two groups of five and six teams.
Malaysia beat Myanmar 4–3 in the final for their first title in the championship. [1]
All of 12 teams from member associations of the ASEAN Football Federation were eligible for the tournament. Only Australia did not enter the tournament. A total of 11 teams from 11 member associations entered the tournament, listed below:

At the end of semi-finals match between Indonesia and Malaysia during the preparation for penalty shoot-out, the stadium suddenly faced a power outage. [3] The Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) explained that it is not caused from their power distribution since the stadium management only use PLN distribution outside the stadium. [4] When the match was resumed and the penalty shoot-out ended with a score 3–2 against the host, dissatisfied Indonesian supporters began to throw bottles and rocks at the Malaysian team after their team failed to qualify to the finals which caused the Malaysian team to run to their dressing room for safety. [5] [6] The Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI) then sent a letter of apology to the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) and promised such incident will never recurred again in the future tournament they host. [7] [8] A meeting was then held between Indonesian Sports Minister Imam Nahrawi and Malaysian Sports Minister Syed Saddiq in response towards the incident. [9]
The 2010 Piala Indonesia was the fifth edition of Piala Indonesia, the nationwide football cup tournament in Indonesia, involving professional clubs from Indonesia Super League, Premier Division and First Division. Sriwijaya FC was the tournament's defending champions. The winner of the tournament qualified to play for 2011 AFC Champions League qualification. RCTI was appointed as the official TV broadcaster for this tournament.

The 2017 AFF U-15 Championship was the twelfth edition of the AFF U-16 Championship, the annual international youth association football championship organised by the ASEAN Football Federation for men's under-15 national teams of Southeast Asia. It had reverted from an under-16 competition to an under-15 competition in preparation for the AFC U-16 Championship 2018 qualifiers. Thailand, which were selected to host the tournament, returning for the first time since the cancelled 2009 AFF U-16 Youth Championship. Vietnam won the tournament after beating Thailand 4–2 on penalties in the final.
Gelora Joko Samudro is a multi-purpose stadium in the town of Kebomas, Gresik Regency, East Java, Indonesia. It is mostly used for football matches and is the new home stadium of Gresik United. The stadium hold 40,000 spectators.

The 2018 PSSI Anniversary Cup was a four-team under-23 association football tournament held at Pakansari Stadium in Cibinong, Bogor Regency from 27 April until 3 May 2018. The tournament was organised to commemorate the 88th anniversary of Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI). Earlier, the tournament was expected to be kicked off on 28 April, however PSSI later changed it on 27 April due to Liga 1 matches that were to be held on that day.
