The 2022 AFF U-23 Championship was the 3rd edition of the AFF U-23 Championship, organised by ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). The tournament was held from 14 to 26 February in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. [1] Indonesia were the defending champions, having won the 2019 edition. The tournament was held amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Indonesia and Myanmar withdrew from the tournament after several of their players tested positive for COVID-19. [2]
Vietnam won the tournament for the first time after beating Thailand 1–0 in the final. [3] [4]

The draw for the 2022 AFF U-23 Championship was held on 29 December 2021 at the Goodwood Park Hotel in Singapore. [5]
A final squad of 23 players (three of whom must be goalkeepers) must be registered one day before the first match of the tournament.

After the withdrawal of Indonesia and Myanmar from the tournament, due to several of their players testing positive for COVID-19, the two remaining teams will play against each other twice. The winners will qualify for the knockout stage, while the losers will be eliminated.

The 2002 AFF U-20 Youth Championship was the inaugural edition of the tournament. It took place from 23 January to 3 February 2002 and was co-hosted by Thailand and Cambodia with all ten member nations of the ASEAN Football Federation taking part.
The AFF U-23 Championship is an international football competition contested by the national under-23 teams of the member nations of the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). The inaugural edition was held in 2005.
The 2016 AFF Championship qualification tournament was the qualification process for the 2016 AFF Championship, the eleventh edition of the AFF Championship. It was held in Cambodia and involved either teams that finished last in the group stage of 2014 AFF Championship or lower ranked teams in Southeast Asia. The format was a single round-robin tournament with the top team qualifying for the tournament proper.
The 2015 AFF U-16 Youth Championship is the 10th edition of the AFF U-16 Youth Championship, organised by the ASEAN Football Federation. It will be hosted by Cambodia for the second time after the 2007 AFF U-17 Youth Championship. It will be played between 27 July to 9 August 2015. It was set to be hosted by Indonesia but they were suspended by FIFA in May 2015.
The 2016 AFF U-16 Youth Championship was the 11th edition of the AFF U-16 Youth Championship, organised by the ASEAN Football Federation for the men's under-16 national teams of Southeastern Asia. It is hosted by Cambodia for the third time after the 2007 AFF U-17 Youth Championship and 2015 AFF U-16 Youth Championship, and won by Australia. It is played between 10 and 23 July 2016.

The women's football tournament at the 2023 SEA Games was held from 3–15 May 2023 in Cambodia. Eight Southeast Asian nations participated in the women's tournament. All matches are played in Phnom Penh. There is no age limit for this tournament. Indonesia withdrew from the competition after the draw. Timor-Leste did not take part in the competition.
The 2023 AFF U-23 Championship was the 4th edition of the AFF U-23 Championship, organised by the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). The tournament took place from 17 to 26 August in Rayong, Thailand. Vietnam are the defending champions, having won the 2022 edition and successfully defended their title through a 6–5 victory on penalties following a 0–0 draw after extra time over Indonesia in the final, thus becoming the first team to win the tournament for a second time.
The 2024 ASEAN Championship is the 15th edition of the ASEAN Championship, football tournament of nations affiliated to the ASEAN Football Federation (AFF). This is also the first edition that the tournament was rebranded to ASEAN Championship.
